Andrea Mitchell this morning said that this group has not bought any ad time yet. Of course, who knows how accurate that statement may be.

I was thinking on the way to work that the black community might see this election as a Mandela or Mugabe. I can see how a witless and uneducated person might believe that the President has more power than he has. That he might be able to rearrange society.
That’s going to lead to a great deal of tension.
I want to see this ad in VIRGINIA!

I don’t know if this would be as effective as before. The narrator’s speech is a bit to fast. And I agree, at this moment 0bama’s own words on spreading the wealth may be more effective.
McCain has to hammer home the economic slowdown and tie it to Dems. He has to create ads that reassure people he can do the job effectively. Reagan's final ad in 1980 did just that, and it is a good closer for the times we are in right now. People like McCain; he's a known quantity.
Obama has not closed the sale on himself at all. That 2001 audio was just one more in a narrative that casts doubts with uncommitted/independent voters. Polls are starting to reflect that. By Thursday or Friday, maybe the weekend, we will see most people make their final choice.
Vote. Bring 10+ people with you.
Notice how scared and terrified Obama and his media get when Wright is mentioned.

I will NEVER get past this point. Obama lost ALL credibility as a candidate as soon as this clown entered the stage. THIS is where the racism is or at least, where it started in this campaign. The polarization has just gotten worse with the passing of time.
We have not forgotten Mr. wright (he has no credential as a minister in my mind). And its past time when people need to be reminded of just what these types are all about should they get in power.

The Rev ads will be EXTREMELY effective. His rants scare the crap out of 85% of this country.
I’m so glad that at least someone is making an issue of it. It should have been McCain. When the Wright tapes first came out I thought there is NO WAY Americans will ever elect this guy. But not only did he get the nominiation but he is supposedly so far ahead in the polls that he will become prez?

Darn, I was expecting, from the headline, a Jeremiah Wright campaign speech instead of a story about an add. Does anyone offer a course for writing headlines?
Obama doesn’t really know what it’s like to grow up as a black man in a white America, Mr. Wright, sir. He was raised in Indonesia and by his white grandparents.
He cannot understand what it’s like to grow up in the ghetto.
He’s way better off than the (dare I say it?) “typical” black person with whom he’s trying to identify.
He’s way better off living in his million some dollar mansion than I am and most other folks I know.
He doesn’t even have a clue what it’s like to middle class from all I can tell.
If he’s so interested in spreading the wealth, he can start with his, not mine.
My impression is that most voters, who started paying attention to the election last week, and don't watch FOX news, have never heard of the name 'Jeremiah Wright'.

I have to disagree, J117. The beauty of being a dem is that there doesn’t have to be any substance to their allegations. My favorite is their analogy that Gov. Palin’s choice to wear white blouses is racist.
We’re dealing with desperate, unstable, unscrupulous people who will do absolutely anything to ensure a victory for their socialist candidate.

Maybe. But the economy is #1 concern right now, esp. 401(k)s.
Voters saw the debates, but the 3rd is what voters will most remember, and it dealt with economic themes such. McCain destroyed Obama. Couple with that the Joe the Plumber video and the recent 2001 audio, and we have what the undecided/independents already intuitively know about Obama: he will take from the earners and give to the non-earners.
McCain needs to hit Obama hard on Dems wanting to tax 401(k)s. His closing argument, as was his theme on the 3rd debate, should be about how he is a strong leader of accomplishments on economic issues, reassure people he can get the job done. Polls are already shifting towards McCAin when he uses this theme.
Obama has not sealed the deal. His ad on Wed. will turn people off, due to over-saturation of his ads and his empty message of "hope" and "change." We already know he will lie about is tax policies. This will reinforce that perception.

GOOD! I Hope they push this in Pa. as well. It is where Mccain can make the close and win the election. It will fall on PA this year who is the winner and the loser.
Obama is nervous about Pa. in a big way. he should be. the numbers are closing.

EM - just made a donation to these guys with a stipulation to play this ad in Tidewater VA. Did this in 2004 with Swifties as $$$ is much better spent than with timid campaign operation. The VA North is lost and not worth any effort but this area is ripe for the pickings, even among African Americans here - they don’t like rads anymore than others do. I think this is a great ad to ease the subject back into the national discussion. They can follow with “chickens coming home to roost” and Bill “riding dirty” tomorrow and then get set for the finale over the weekend:
Obama speaking the same words as Wright: “White man's greed runs a world in need” and other references from Wrights sermon: The Audacity of Hope. Interesting and familiar title isn't it?? Where have I seen it before.
All I am saying is that we can take steps rather than dumping all of his racist hatred on the undecideds at once.
