But what IS Hispanic?

I'm white, but through marriage, I have a Hispanic last name. My husband was Hispanic, born in East LA. His Hispanic parents were born in Arizona. All the men have serve in the U.S. military. I stopped counting my many colored "Hispanic" grandchildren at 15 --- It got kind of complicated after that.

Please keep in mind, that many "Hispanics," have family lines that have been in the United States territory since it was acquired by this nation. They have assimilated, married non-Hispanics, etc. It's called a melting pot. Yet, when the census takers ask, "Are you Hispanic?" they honest answer is 'yes.'
