Most disturbing has been McCain's choice of Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin as his running mate. It was a reckless decision based on political calculations, not the country's best interests.

Oh, the irony.

Only the American network news media would consider selecting a highly popular governer with a distinct record of achievement as VP "reckless" while endorsing an avowed marxist without a paper trail as president.

I gotta laugh or I'll pop a vein.

The St. Pete Times is somewhere to the left of the Daily Worker.

And Senator 0bama’s decision to select a severely brain damaged Senator Biden (two brain aneurysms, stupid is a judgment call, brain damaged is a matter of public record)? That is looking more and more like a BRILLIANT decision on his part that speaks well of his judgment and prudence/s.

Would have expected these two endorsements — Enquirer has leaned conservative for as long as I can remember.

John McCain needs to remember for a very long time that the liberal media in all its forms have in almost lock step stabbed him in the back, and attempted to destroy Governor Palin, an excellent governor as well as woman, with lies and lying attacks.

They thought they could control McCain and that’s why they pushed him for the nominee. They were mistaken, and their anger has been rather alarming to say the least.

What is Obama’s biggest decision to date? Joe Biden. He picked Mister Looney Tunes for a running mate. How much more evidence of incompetence do you need?

I missed it. Why does anyone care what the editor of a newspaper thinks about a election? I don’t even read them, except the WSJ of course.

You mind as well just go out on the street, find a random person, and ask them who they would vote for and then post a thread about it.

Stop buying and reading newspapers folks, except the WSJ, of course. ;-)

Ahhhh. . . .yes, the Far Left and St. Petersburg Times must attempt to discredit Palin because of what is at stake here and how she personifies what they hate.

In an earlier post, I spoke of what is the "elephant in the room" in this election. Yet, the subject is being muted and muffled by noise about the economy and less crucial issues.

It's time for life to become a battle cry in this last week of war for the future of American liberty! And it has been a declared war by the Left! It is the one area of real, recorded major difference between the candidates.

Let us not forget that Creator-endowed right to life and liberty is the foundation upon which this nation was founded.

If a nation devalues that concept, basing an individual's right to life and liberty on judicial fiat and a woman or girl's decision, then where is the security for liberty for any?

Yes, the elephant in the room in this election is the Radical Left's absolute determination that it, alone, will decide who sits on the Supreme Court of the United States! They talk about "change," they talk about war, they talk about everything else, but the "elephant" is the question of the unfettered right of a woman to destroy her unborn child. To the Left, this is a declared war on all opposition.

McCain & Palin do need to talk about the economy and Obama's "spread the wealth" philosophy, but for the sake of liberty for generations yet unborn, it is far more important that he clarify the importance of the life issue, and the threat to liberty if Obama carries out the Left's agenda. Soft pedaling this issue, as if it is just a personal preference, overlooks a far more significant principle.

"The God who gave us life, gave us liberty at the same time: the hand of force may destroy, but cannot disjoin them."- Thomas Jefferson

"The world is different now. . . . And yet the same revolutionary beliefs for which our forefathers fought are still at issue around the globe--the belief that the rights of man come not from the generosity of the state but from the hand of God."- JFK, Inaugural 1961

The SP Times endorsed Barack Obama?

That’s no surprise. I’d have been shocked if they hadn’t!

The St. Petersburg (Fla.) Times endorsed Obama in an editorial set for publication Oct. 26: McCain, 72, remains an American hero, a former Vietnam prisoner of war whose service to his country has been honorable. Yet his campaign in recent months has been unworthy of his record and raises serious questions about his judgment and leadership if elected.

Of course there is nothing in OBAMA'S record that would raise any DOUBTS! What stups!
