Pastor charged with felony for spanking son

Wisconsin pastor has been charged with felony physical abuse of a child after he spanked his 12-year-old son for lying and a teacher notified social services.

Barry W. Barnett Jr., 43, of Poynette, Wis., is free on a $10,000 bond, but he could face up to three years in prison and fines for disciplining his son, the local Portage Daily Register reported.

At the pastor's hearing, Barnett's son said his father was right to spank him .

"He gave me a chance to tell him the truth, and I just kept lying to him," the boy said.

The boy said his father gave him two "swats" that "hurt a little" on his rear end in June. He told authorities both he and his dad cried while he was disciplined.

The 12-year-old said he was warned he might receive a spanking if he continued to act up and that he understands what he did was wrong.

"You should not lie to your parents and you should not go to places (where you are not allowed)," he said.

One of his siblings mentioned the spanking to a teacher, who called social services, according to the report.

A June 7 report from the Divine Savior Healthcare emergency department indicated that the boy had slight bruising on his buttocks, but it said there was no swelling and he was not experiencing pain. The medical paperwork said the boy told physicians he didn't think he was abused and he loves his father.

The documents show the boy's doctor does not believe he was abused, and he called the event a "social services fiasco."

Child “protective” services are the REAL abusers.....
of parental rights, liberty, justice, decency, freedom, common sense.....

In the words of that idiot Michael Moore, “Dude, Where’s My Country?”

Unlike Joe the Plumber, this is one of the many reasons that I’m already scared for America.

I’ve just reported a link to a sickening, disturbing video on a site called NoahSife.com. The video, which is obviously filmed by an adult with other adults present, shows little kids mimicking sexual intercourse on the dance floor at a birthday party.

The adults at this party should be fully prosecuted, but nothing will probably ever come of it. Yet, spanking is a felony.

I reported this to antichildporn.org. If anyone knows of another organization I need to contact please let me know.

I served on a jury panel a couple years ago hearing a child custody case. I thought it was very telling that in the pre selection questions, both lawyers asked what potential jurors thought of CPS. There was not a positive comment in the entire jury pool.. ps .. the trial confirmed our the bad reviews.

When my daughter was around thirteen, she started to become a real problem for my former wife and me. One problem was that she kept sneaking out of the house through her bedroom window, and sneaking other kids in. That, along with her smoking in her room, and various other goings-on, led me to simply remove her bedroom door so that she would not have "privacy" to continue to misbehave. I told her that she could open her closet door and stand behind it for the privacy she would need for dressing and undressing.

She reported the situation to the school nurse, who in turn notified DSS. The lives of my former wife and I became hell on earth for about six months.

I consider DSS (Department of Social Services) and Child Protective Services right up there with the IRS and BATF when it comes to being Jack Booted Thugs.

Spare the rod, spoil the child. Perhaps if whitey granny had spanked Hussein, he wouldn’t have done drugs and hung out with the wrong crowd and we wouldn’t be in danger of losing our country.

The dangers of socialism.
Parents can no longer raise their own children.

That point was illustrated when The Communist Goals as read into the the Congressional Record in 1963.

40. Discredit the family as an institution. Encourage promiscuity and easy divorce.
41. Emphasize the need to raise children away from the negative influence of parents. Attribute prejudices, mental blocks and retarding of children to suppressive influence of parents.

It seems that there are actually two different and parallel CPS systems - one for real parents, where the child must never be disciplined in any way, and one for foster parents, where CPS won’t even notice if the kids are killed and stored in a freezer, as just happened in Maryland.

“Spare the rod, spoil the child”.

I spanked our three boys a few times and they all turned out fine. They needed it, believe me. The scene was the same as described as above where both the father and the son cried. It DID hurt me more than it hurt them.

Hell, I’m sure some of us FReepers even received spankings in school for acting up. Most of us turned out okay. If today’s standards were in practice back then I’d probably just now be getting out of prison.

Situations like this will only increase under 0’s presidency.

"....and a teacher notified social services."

One hopes that the father will sue this "teacher".

My My My how things change. My father beat me with a 3 inch wide leather belt for even trivial things, like for not taking the trash out immediately. Once I said ‘damn’. By todays standards, he would have got 25 yrs. to life.

I am publicly on record as stating that Child Protective Services (under whatever name; DFACS in my State) had best never show up on my property without an arrest warrant and a SWAT team.

Seeing his father charged and tried by the government will be more harmful to the boy than any spanking could ever be.

They purposefully go after functional families, ones which will be mortified by the charges, embarassed, and cowed into submission--which, incidentally includes weeks of 'classes' to be taken (at no small fee) to rehabilitate the parent, and endless supervision by the Social Serpents.

You might wonder why, but the answer is simple. They pick on the people who can be counted on to bring them funding, who, being decent folks, just might be ashamed of being accused of abuse.

They purposefully avoid the ones who might take them outside and beat the crap out of them, and who would likely never pay for all the reeducation, thus draining the office budget, not enhancing it.

If you are ever unjustly accused, Lawyer up and hit them hard. You will never regret that.

When my daughter was in elementary school, the Korean kids would come to school with scarred legs because they didn’t make A’s. Social Services ignored it. Some of those kids still won’t wear shorts above the knees because of the scarring.
