ST. LOUIS Vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin will drop the ceremonial first puck Friday night before the St. Louis Blues' game against the Los Angeles Kings.
The Alaska governor and self-described "hockey mom" also dropped the first puck Oct. 11 before Philadelphia's home opener against the New York Rangers.
Palin has an appearance Friday at Missouri State University in Springfield.
Win or lose, I love this woman.
the closest she has come to my area was probably Reno.....which is 850 miles away...
A local liberal sports columnist (sorry for the redundancy)was throwing a hissy fit on the air this afternoon, here in St. Louis.
Among other things he said he WAS going to write a couple of columns on the Blues this week, but now he just won’t.
I think he also plans to:
a) Take his ball and go home.
b) Slam the door to his room.
c) Hold his breath until he is blue in the face.
That’ll show ‘em.

Well St Louis fans better cheer for her. If they don’t let me simply remind you that the Flyers have lost every game they’ve played this year since they booed Palin. God is righteous. LOL!
The MSU field house seats only 4,000 - all tickets were gone by 10:00AM today. To accomodate a larger crowd, the Palin rally site has been moved to the Bass Pro parking lot. Lots of people came by Republican HQ today for yard signs, buttons, etc. I met a volunteer that had been working for most of the day and learned that he had taken the city bus to Republican HQ just to pick up a McCain/Palin yard sign. When we finished the task we were working on, I drove him home.
Recently went to the eye doctor. He said people were asking for her glasses style and he couldn’t get them in fast enough. Even his wife wants a pair. Noticing Palin hair styles showing up on teenagers. Saw a neighbor today. Her husband will vote absentee, but she said she would get to the polls if she had to crawl there. She is in her eighties.
I hope that Kings announcers Bob Miller and Jim Fox get to talk with her during the game. I’ll have to set up my DVD recorder - I get off at 6pm PDT, and by the time I get home, it will be 2nd intermission.

It figures. The other option was BB, but he’s obsessed with things other than hockey. I could say some snide, nasty things about BM having spied him at Busch from time to time, but why waste the bandwidth.
I wonder if they would be so balanced if it was the Messiah descending upon St. Louis to drop the ceremonial first puck?
THere are plenty of Joe The Plumber types in the upper bowl so they’d be sure to get some derogatory comments.
Does the messiah even know what a puck is? Were the Blackhawks a part of his life ever?

I don't know. I know a lot of people in the upper bowl who are died in the wool demoncrats, work on their feet or no.
I just hope the crowd realizes that this is a moment for class. Normally, you can count on it at a Blues game, but this is one case where I'm just not sure.

Community organizers don’t plan tailgates. So, are you going to see her drop the puck?
