You see, at the very time when I couldn't get a business loan to get my mud pumps into production, you were working with Acorn and the Community Reinvestment Act programs to make sure that unqualified borrowers could buy homes with no down payment, and even no credit or worse yet, bad credit. Even the infamous, liberal, Ninja loans (No Income, No Job or Assets). While these unqualified borrowers were enjoying unrealistically low interest rates, I was paying 22% to 24% interest on the credit cards that I had used to provide me the funds for the mud pump business that has created jobs for more East Texans

Corey Miller is not alone. I have always said the surest way to turn a liberal into a conservative is to have them successfully bootstrap a business on their own.

My God! Peril at every turn. Make one bad decision and you could pay for it for a very long time. Then there are the customers that don’t pay their bills, inept suppliers, employees with ethical, attitude and reliability issues, taxes that you never even knew existed, daily business problems that would take the average government employee most of the year to figure out, countless hours away from home. This list could go on and on but the point is this - most business don’t survive, much less prosper.

So if “What’s His Name” does get elected with a full boat of Democrats in the house and senate, it’s gonna be a rough two years for the small guy. The survivors will survive, and will come out of this stronger and smarter (if it happens) than before and with less competition. Then things will change as they did in 1994.

Hang in there.
