Who’s gonna regain anything? If we elect this communist, I’m personally laying off 3 of my 8 employees. Every business owner I talk to is doing similar drastic downsizing depending on the outcome of this election.

If Hussein is elected, there is no way anyone’s regaining confidence in anything.

Either McCain or Obama, the next year is gonna be tough.

Prices of food and imho, larger unemployment coming.

That is also what I am hearing in this neck of the woods (I will be one of those employees being layed off, BTW), and I can personally attest that orders are already dropping off in anticipatory dread of an Obama win. For all the "hope" hype, there are enough people who have it figured out, and they are doing what they can before they have no control at all.

Mencken gave us a warning about the electorate getting it good and hard; with Obama and Co., we'll also get it while bent over a sawhorse, and it may not have an ending.

The night of Reagan's election I was in a meeting with 35 or 40 builders and contractors. The meeting agenda was completely ignored as the returns came in. Every one of those businesses was gone if Carter was reelected, either bankrupt or suspended. Every one of them.

As the night went on the look on the faces went from defeat to hope to jubilation. For the first time in years they had a future to plan for.

There were still rough years ahead and not all of them made it. One man I talked to that night eventually committed suicide. If he had lasted another year, he'd have been a multimillionaire.

This election is a repeat of that night, with the future in doubt.
