What exactly is purported to be on this tape?
If API releases the tapes—if they exist—we’ll report on it. If API doesn’t have the tapes to release—we’ll report on it. Since we’re the MSM, we won’t decide that readers are better off not knowing anything.
It’s worth repeating (as we’ve done in every API story we’ve done): we don’t know if this is true or not; only the principals involved know that for sure at this point.
We did notice the almost-immediate denial by the Obama campaign of this story. Which means that they took it very seriously—something the campaign did not do over the Larry Sinclair story. The Obama campaign never made a statement concerning Sinclair’s allegations.
But Obama’s campaign addressed the allegations from “an obscure African news agency”’s website. Within hours of it being reported, Obama denial statements were being issued to not only the MSM, but also to places like National Review. Of course, Obama himself declared in the 3rd debate that it was “absolutely untrue” that he held his first fundraiser at Bill Ayers’ home.
We’ll know soon enough. And then we’ll report what happened—if anything.
That’s what I wanna know. If I had to guess, nothing but a bunch of overreaching republicans.
