My thought exactly. Isn't he an Episcopalian? He appears to have married Cindy while still married to his first wife. So it's not exactly unprecedented for him.

I think the reasoning is New Mexico may be gone, it has 5 electoral votes. If McCain can win New Hampshire’s 4 electoral votes, plus 1 of Maine’s...it will offset it.
That is just my guess.
