As a screener at Newark Liberty International Airport, Pythias Brown ... A laptop here, a cell phone there. Within months, he had snatched more than 100 items, authorities say. But this summer, Brown got too ambitious for his own good, allegedly stealing a $47,900 camera from an HBO crew (who found the item listed by him on Ebay).

Just be glad Damon didn’t get into the act, too.

It’s incredibly racist interfering with this guy’s aspirations to be a reseller of goods. Even if he’s white. Especially if he’s white. Or Hispanic.

“Ambitious???”

Sounds just plain damn stupid to me, stealing a network TV camera and listing it on Ebay...

Authorities said the camera was posted (on eBay) by a person with the user ID "alirla."

Great seller. Highly recommended. A+++++

The “new direction” America! The government now arranges for you to take your stuff to the thieves instead of them having to come to your house. Saves them gas money! Cool!

The story may have changed, but it now says CNN, not HBO.

Sorry, need to correct my correction - he got caught because of the CNN theft, but the article does play up the HBO connection.

During the formation of Homeland Security, Bush had the opportunity to staff airport security with either former military and law enforcement personnel ... or the same old “entitled” big city union patronage hacks. So glad he went with the latter!

Yup. A coworker (sales guy) wound up checking his work laptop for some reason. Of course, it never arrived...

My laptop was stolen there about 6 years ago. Airline was quick with a dialogue with me, but refused to reimburse me for the item. It was an expensive laptop, but I would’ve loved to just get my photos back. Couple years of important photos, gone forever.....I didn’t have them backed up.

My mistake was putting the laptop in checked baggage and I had to switch planes before continuing on to San Diego. Wasn’t until I got home before I realized my laptop case felt awfully light. Said they weren’t responsible for items in checked baggage, sorry Charlie.

Do not, EVER, put anything valuable in your checked luggage!

Is that part of this "green economy" Obama keeps talking about?

“Uselding said the TSA worked closely with homeland security investigators to bring the charges against Brown. She also said that his crimes were RARE and that LESS THAN 300 TSA employees have been terminated for theft.”

My caps added, so not to worry. The government has TOP MEN on the job.
