The Kill Them claim spread like wildfire across the MSM as evidence of insane rage on the Right. Barack Obama mentioned it during the debate.
Now that the Secret Service has investigated and failed to find a single person to corroborate the reporters claim, Im sure youll be seeing this on the front pages and nightly news lead stories in all the media outlets that spread it.
Right?
Riiiiiight.
The Times-Leader reports:
The agent in charge of the Secret Service field office in Scranton said allegations that someone yelled kill him when presidential hopeful Barack Obamas name was mentioned during Tuesdays Sarah Palin rally are unfounded.
The Scranton Times-Tribune first reported the alleged incident on its Web site Tuesday and then again in its print edition Wednesday. The first story, written by reporter David Singleton, appeared with allegations that while congressional candidate Chris Hackett was addressing the crowd and mentioned Oabamas name a man in the audience shouted kill him.
News organizations including ABC, The Associated Press, The Washington Monthly and MSNBCs Countdown with Keith Olbermann reported the claim, with most attributing the allegations to the Times-Tribune story.
Agent Bill Slavoski said he was in the audience, along with an undisclosed number of additional secret service agents and other law enforcement officers and not one heard the comment.
I was baffled, he said after reading the report in Wednesdays Times-Tribune.
He said the agency conducted an investigation Wednesday, after seeing the story, and could not find one person to corroborate the allegation other than Singleton.
Slavoski said more than 20 non-security agents were interviewed Wednesday, from news media to ordinary citizens in attendance at the rally for the Republican vice presidential candidate held at the Riverfront Sports Complex. He said Singleton was the only one to say he heard someone yell kill him.
We have yet to find someone to back up the story, Slavoski said. We had people all over and we have yet to find anyone who said they heard it.

Related from Patterico: Nobody Yelled Kill Him About Obama at a McCain or Palin Rally.
Let’s face it folks, Obama is a pathological liar. Period!
They are very good at making things up, aren’t they?
We’re in a world of hurt if the SS hasn’t figured out libs lie.
It makes me so mad to see the media blatently lie and portray Palin supporters as a bunch of dangerous racists. I feel like I want to spam the obama campaign with email after email demanding a retraction of last night’s lie regarding the infamous Palin rally.
And on the flipside,
we have pictures of the vulgar, obscene, misogynist T-Shirts worn by 0bama supporters,
and interview transcripts.
"Well of course nobody else heard it. After all it was a McCain/Palin event, why would anyone be truthful?"
Maybe they mistook Kill for Drill....”Drill baby Drill” must surely be racist!
This idiot wants attention!!! Stupid reporter started this is crap of lies.
(NoCoGOP’S wife message)
Telling a story to the Feds that is not corroborated by others...Let’s ask Scooter Libby what happens to people who do this.
Aren’t there federal laws that prohibit inciting a riot. Could the MSM who reported the comment happened when it didn’t be held on some kind of legal charges?
Is there anyone in Scranton able/willing to press charges against them?
“Fake, but accurate...” is the lib's mantra. If it can be imagined and conceivably fits the narrative, then it's established as fact.
They will stop at nothing to preserve their false view of the world;their power depends upon it.
What I want to know is if they were real Secret Service agents who showed up at the home of that woman who the Obama telemarketers say threatened the Messiah.
Hey, here’s an idea. Ask the Scranton-Times Trib reporter why he made that sh!t up!
I see nothing, I hear nothing, I know nothing!
Interesting how the MSM has to make up racist remarks from McCain/Palin supporters while outright ignoring very real sexist remarks from Obama/Biden supporters. Once it becomes an Obamanation, they’re going to be surprised when they’re taking orders DIRECTLY from the White House.
Actually, I saw one story where a Secret Service spokesman said that someone might have said “Tell him” or Tell them.” Either one would have sounded like “Tell ‘m.”
File it under “Fake but accurate.”
