Sarah Palin has about one more week to come clean with Americans, tell them the truth and try to win votes for John McCain's ticket. Can she do it?
Not based on her actions so far.
Remember, a bipartisan investigation found that she abused Alaska's ethics laws when she tried to have the head state trooper get rid of an ex-brother-in-law. The report was released on Friday.
Yet Palin claimed to reporters over the weekend that she had been "cleared of any legal wrongdoing, any hint of unethical activity."
That's just not true, and Palin knows it.
She kept repeating her silly contention at campaign stops, instructing one reporter to "read the report, sir."
Yes, Americans should read it. Here's the money quote, repeated on press reports all weekend long:
"Governor Palin knowingly permitted a situation to continue where impermissible pressure was placed on several subordinates in order to advance a personal agenda."

Bipartisan my @$$. The head of the investigation is a dyed in the wool Obama supporter.
They are afraid.
Yael T. Abouhalkah, you sir are a left wing nut and are a disgrace to journalism. Who cares what you think?
Slither back to dailykos you abortion luvin piece of dung...
Those damn Irish guys need to leave Governor Palin alone.
yawn.
This ‘report’ wasn’t from the Alaska Legislature..They are on recess.
This so-called ‘report’ was from the Democrat shill investigator that has been trying to get Sarah out of office for years.
This is nothing more than bullcrap wrapped up in rose pedals.
There has been NO HEARING about this...period.
Written by Yael T. Abouhalkah. A good Irish name. /s
Who is this islamist writing editorials for the KC papers. He has been an hysterical leftist POS since I first stumbled across him a couple months ago.
I think it can be successfully argued that dimissing a rogue cop from his position is a public, not personal issue.

just so sad that they care more about 1 person being fired from his job as opposed to worrying about obama and his ties to corruption and terrorists that could really hurt this country. kind of reminds me of all the free passes the clintons got while they were in office.
The KC Star is just another dying, big city yellow sheet, like the Star Tribune and St. Louis Post. Not really the paper of record for anybody or anything.
I believe its nice to have a face to associate with such steaming piles of "journalism".
More nasty Nellies of the media.......here’s one that gets it!
Everyone is out to destroy Palin - but it’s Obama’s past we should examine (MUST read article)

[snip]Now the Left thinks it has shot its moose. It has been crowing that an inquiry by Alaska’s legislature has found Palin abused her office by firing Alaska’s Commissioner of Public Safety for refusing to fire in turn Palin’s former brother-in-law, Trooper Michael Wooten.
This really is a case of half-baked Alaska. First, the inquiry’s conclusions were ambiguous. It found that Palin had violated public trust through using official action for personal interest; but it also said the firing was a proper and lawful exercise of her authority, and that personal interest had only been a contributory factor in the Commissioner’s firing.
And just what was that personal interest? Palin wanted a state Trooper fired because he had assaulted his 11-year-old stepson with a stun gun, been caught drinking alcohol in his patrol car, and the Palins say was threatening to kill a member of their family.
Certainly, there was a conflict of interest because Wooten was the Governor’s sister’s ex-husband. But shouldn’t the real question be why such a man was not fired?
What is really astounding, however, is the hue and cry over this non-event in Alaska while a raft of disturbing evidence about Senator Obama’s connections is being either glossed over or not reported at all.
This may come as a shock to most people, but Obama is at the centre of a network of radical associations which he has tried to conceal.
Take for example his relationship with William Ayers, founder of the terrorist Weather Underground which bombed federal buildings in the 1960s and who has consistently maintained his radical views ever since.
I’m sure Mahmood will be asking Obama, any second now, to come clean on his background.
...while the Palins expressed their disapproval of a rogue trooper with a history of violence who was making erratic threats.
Palin is right. “Abuse of power” as used in the report means nothing. She was cleared of violating any laws. She was cleared of violating any ethics rules. The Commissioner served at her pleasure. She could dismiss him for any reason, or for no reason at all. The “abuse of power” allegation was thrown in by partisans who wanted to tar her with something, but it is absolutely devoid of content.
