Speaking of Philadelphia, we had a layover at the airport there on Friday. I’ve never met so many surly, snarky, nasty people as the people who work there. The U.S. Airways gate reps get the prize for the worst. Sheesh!

We’d just spent the two prior weeks in rural western NY State where everyone was kind, friendly, and helpful. Culture shock.

We lived north of the City (philly) and had really great neighbors/friends. I remember a family moving into the neighborhood from the city and the locals called them “city trash”..... I was kind of shocked until I observed them for awhile and realized the name was pretty dead on. Lots of yelling at/to kids, quick tempers, etc.
