Palin heightens rhetoric on abortion
CNN ^ | 10/11/2008

Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin charged into the culture wars Saturday in Pennsylvania, painting Sen. Barack Obama as a radical on abortion rights.

(snip)

"A vote for Barack Obama is a vote for activist courts that will continue to smother the open and democratic debate that we deserve and that we need on this issue of life," she said.

Palin skewered Obama for voting "present" while in the Illinois State Senate on a bill that would have required medical care for fetuses that survived abortion.

"So in short, Sen. Obama is a politician who has long since left behind even the middle ground on the issue of life," she said.

Obama opposes any constitutional amendment to overturn the Supreme Court's decision in Roe v. Wade and disagreed with Supreme Court ruling to uphold the "Partial Birth Abortion Ban Act." He did not cast a vote on Prohibiting Funds for Groups that Perform Abortions amendment in 2007.

Palin opposes abortion in all cases, including rape and incest, except when a mother's life is in danger, and said she believes Roe v. Wade should be overturned and the decision given to the states.

(snip)

Palin also talked about a remark Obama made about sex education while campaigning in Johnstown in March, when he told a voter he didn't want his daughters "punished with a baby" or "punished with an STD" if they were not educated about sex and made a mistake.

"So I listened when our opponent defended his unconditional support for unlimited abortions and he said he said that a woman shouldn't have to be 'Punished with a baby,'" Palin said as the audience jeered the Democratic nominee. "Ladies and gentlemen, he said that right here in Johnstown. 'Punished with a baby.' It's about time we called him on it."

Are Sarah and McCain speaking at rallies anywhere today that we can pick up through streaming video? Thanks in advance.

I love this. Let McCain be nice for a couple of days. Let him prep for the next debate, but keep the pressure from Palin. That’s her role, to stoke the base and depress theirs.

If that’s the game plan, then McCain should be talking about the future, calming people’s fears about the economy, etc. Meanwhile, we have the Barracuda out there exposing 0bama for what he is, a damn socialist.

You know... a few days ago a statement like that would anger me... but today I hang my head and shake it in agreement.

Great news. The seeming avoidance of this issue has had a debilitating impact on many in the pro-life movement. This is a wonderful turn of events. Voters need to be informed about the full extent of Obama's dark and extreme pro-Abortion beliefs.

Did any of you see Obama’s stump speech this morning? We need a clip from it!

He did his normal thank the mayor stuff, then he got this wierd look on his face and he said “And thank the Lord for this beautiful day”, and the crowd started chanting Obama, obama, and the look on his face was downright FREAKY! Is here anyone that can get a clip of that?

Also could someone please tell me how to post a pic. I have tried and tried and it just doesn’t work:(

The most important question of our time. In the words of Thomas Jefferson about another great injustice:

"I tremble for my country when I reflect that God is just, that His justice cannot sleep forever." - Thomas Jefferson

"The God who gave us life, gave us liberty at the same time: the hand of force may destroy, but cannot disjoin them." - Thomas Jefferson

A mind which contrives to justify the death of innocents both in and out of the womb cannot safely be entrusted with the protection of a nation.
