I was in a karaoke bar last night auditioning a female singer for my new band and I heard the funnyest comment.
I was sitting at a table with people who worked in the place (bartender and waitress) and their significant others. They were all “thirty somethings” that you would categorize as “lower middle class”. Anyway, the boyfriend of the waitress starts going off on Palin being picked strictly to make the stupid lower middle class think she is one of them.
I started to rip him a new one - politely - but backed off. His gf saw what was coming, I saw that she saw, and decided it was not worth it. You could tell she was REALLY uncomfortable with just how much I knew, and I thank Freerepublic for the lions share of that.
It was an interesting moment though.
Didn’t he once run for, or threaten to run for Arizona’s Statehouse. I recall the slogan “A Troubled Man For Troubled Times.”
Alice quit drinking years ago, after it nearly killed him.
He used golf to STOP drinking beer, it became his hobby instead of partying, he’s a good player too.
