Michigan Republicans Not Giving Up

At a press conference held Monday at the Oakland County Courthouse, questions were posed to local Republicans on whether or not Republican presidential candidate John McCain and his vice presidential running mate Sarah Palin would be back in Michigan.

WWJ Newsradio 950's Mike Campbell reports any Oakland County Republican that was asked replied with "yes," but pressed for any specifics, including plans or dates for a visit -- they didn't have much to say.

Many local Republicans are saying they will not concede from Michigan - just because McCain pulled out of the state.

Oakland County Executive L. Books Patterson was joined by Republican Congressman Joe Knollenberg, along with numerous County Commission candidates and party administrators, in stating that local Republican candidates remain "strong, committed, and determined to win."

Meantime, Michigan Republicans were also reacting to the recent Sarah Palin comments about Barack Obama's past associations with William Ayers - a "1960s radical." Patterson said he believe it's fair game.

with all the stuff about Michigan in the news about this I think all it would take is one visit by Sarah to pull it off. It would get prime time coverage and be worth 10 times the cost

GO FOR IT SARAH!!!!

And we also have 9 GOP congressmen, and enough good districts to elect 10 in a good year.

Palin and McCain can win here, and at worst help make sure we all have congressmen named Tim Walberg, Mike Rogers, Joe Knollenberg, and Tom Casperson instead of Mark "Raise my taxes" Schauer, kook Bob Alexander, academiac Gary Peters, and incumbent Bart Stupak. Four districts here are winnable for either party.

I’m from Michigan and I haven’t given up. I believe a surge is coming and WE WILL WIN MICHIGAN!!

Time for action. If every republican in the state would revealed the true Obama to at least one democrat we would win. Even if only 20% changed their minds.

Go McCain and Palin!!!

Send Sarah and Todd to WS. MN and MI. We can win all three. My guess is Sarah can flip Iowa too. Sarah can speak that Northern Midwest lingo.

She needs to tell people that we have FOUR times the Saudis reserves in shale oil, coal diesel and North Dakota oil in the lower 48 states that we can recover at $30 barrel. This can save Detroit, create lots of jobs, economic growth, tax revenue and wealth createion versus sending $750 billion a year to the Middle East. Sarah knows oil and energy.

I went to MI once and it was last fall. I went to Grand Rapids and the people were fantastic and it is a beautiful town.
