Republican vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin expanded her attack on Democrat Barack Obama's character Monday to include his relationship with an incendiary former pastor as well as his ties to 1960s-era radical Bill Ayers.

At least someone in the McCain camp is fighting...
"Show me just what Mohammed brought that was new, and there you will find things only evil and inhuman, such as his command to spread by the sword the faith he preached." - Manuel II Palelologus
“At least someone in the McCain camp is fighting...”
Ever hear of “good cop/bad cop”?
There is no way Palin is going on attack like this on her own, none. McCain gets to stand back, and look presidential. Palin does the dirty work.
I think McCain is trying to stay above the fray, to show Presidential demeanor. I’m happy to see Gov. Palin come out swinging, she has the style and verbal skills to put the knife in, but to do it with a smile.
The name of the game from now on is to cast heavy doubt on BHO as a leader and CinC, to win hearts and minds of the thin slice of undecided voters.
...and all his other pals.
To have an insight into the Obama-Ayers relationship, one has to understand the goal of the Chicago Annenberg Challenge.
And it took Jon Voight on the Huckabee show last night to give us the point:
The goal of Barack Obama's collaboration with William Ayers in the CAC was to test for effective ways of radicalizing public school children, using the inner city Chicago schools as a test bed. It was not about the three R's. Radicalizing schoolkids (especially black kids) was their R.
Please tell it how it is, conservative media.
problem is that mccain isn’t just above the fray...he is not around at all
All eyes are on Waxman now as he blames McCain for the economic implosion. I am certain that this collapse was engineering by Soros to coincide with the election.
Yes but where is Ayers? Is he still alive? Why is no one taking an interesting in obtaining that ratings shattering interview? Huh? HUH??????
Why isn’t the press, and I’m sure there’s plenty of conservative press out there, come on, trying to put heat on this guy to talk or show his ugly face?
Well, I disagree. The “character” question didn’t work for Dole and I doubt it’s enough this year. Fine for Palin to do it, but that doesn’t mean McCain can stand back and “look presidential”.
No, what McCain should be doing is hammering home how the Dems, including Obama, sold us out on Fannie Mae and brought down the economy at the same time. He should shout to the rooftops that Obama and the Democrats tell you how much they’re going to do to help you. Well, it also sounded good when they said they were going let more low income people own their own home. But to do so, they forced banks to lend to unworthy borrowers. Then Fannie Mae bought the bad loans...what a deal, huh?! Their good intentions are now endangering the entire economy—three trillion dollars in bad mortgages. And the same folks say they have more “help” for you! God save us from more help from them.
It’s time to make people focus on the danger of Obama in the White House with a free-wheeling Dem congress.
In re: Wright (I already used that about Ayers)
McCains’s a drama guy. An optimist says he’s holding back until one presumes this next debate. I mean he could stand there conceivably and just hammer Obama on Wright and Ayers over and over again basically ignoring the moderator. He could go nuclear. For whatever reason our leaders thus far have held back going nuclear.
I met Bill Ayers in 1968.
I was a student at CWRU in Cleveland and attended a small SDS meeting that Ayers and Terry Robbins came to address. Robbins was positively a psychopath. He had hollow rage-filled eyes and meeting him was one of the most profoundly scary encounters in my life. Ayers sat grinning with his stare fixated on some internal images, nodding in agreement as Robbins propounded the need for revolutionary violence. Their message was that change was going to come, by violent means because the democratic process was ineffectual at that particular historical moment.
Ayers’ goals have not changed one iota. Robbins died making a bomb that blew up in a NYC brownstone and reduced the building, and himself, to smithereens.
Time for McCain to start....ridin’ dirty.
