Just because he got fired from ESPN 15 years ago for being a (in the illustrious words of Richard Cheney) Major League A@@hole, doesn’t mean that he is qualified or remotely related to being a sportscaster. No more than his background as a sports reporter made him qualified to host election coverage for a public television network.
NBC apparently is trying to save money by not hiring people who are experienced by using one guy who has ‘some’ experience in every spot they have. Next, he will be doing weather on The Today Show.
