NH House members stay on the fence [on Bailout]

WASHINGTON – New Hampshire's two Democratic House members -- who voted against the $700 billion financial bailout package on Monday -- won't say how they will vote today when the House takes up the revised legislation.

Rep. Carol Shea-Porter said yesterday she is glad the Senate added renewable energy incentives and a provision to adjust the alternative minimum tax so 20 million Americans can avoid paying it, but said she still has concerns about the bill and how it would affect middle-class Americans.

[snip]

On Wednesday, she told New Hampshire Union Leader's Granite Status she was "desperately trying to get to 'yes'" on the plan, "but I'm not there, yet."

I am shocked but thankful that these two seat warmers are actually doing the right thing...for now.

What’s really disappointing is the work of Judd Gregg — a disgraceful excuse for a so-called Republican. First, Amnesty no this.

This man needs to be voted out of office in 2010.

She's not doing it because she had a "come to Jesus" moment. She's doing it because she's behind in the polls to Bradley and voting for this thing would be another nail in her coffin.

As one of her constituents who has spoken with her, take it from me--she's still a Marxist to the core.

“As one of her constituents who has spoken with her, take it from me—she’s still a Marxist to the core.’

I know that full well, but in a nail bitter like this a vote is a vote — even from a marxist

I get a sense that the House is going to pass the Senate package today. I do not think they want to let this issue fester over the weekend. Or maybe they do? Lets the DEMs keep trashing the GOP over the economy and keeps the VP debate off the main headlines.

If they are going to pass anything, I really wish they would go with the proposed $250 billion bailout plan by the GOP that has no pork. While I am at it, I would like a pony.
