This was McCain’s chance to burnish his maverick creds.. he could have stood up, pointed out the pork, pointed out the insanity of bailing out banks who should fail (is the invisible hand no longer a valid concept), in short, given the country an example of true leadership... but NOOO... couldn’t resist the insider consensus to shore up the D.C.-Wall St. lobbyist cocktail party circuit. Didn’t even bother to speak at all... guess he hoped to vote and sneak out unnoticed...

What gets me is that most people think the answer to this is to elect the former ACORN community organizer. It’s beyond belief! When is our side going to scream the truth loud enough? There’s no fair and balanced in this - one side tried to do something and the other side obstructed and their friends and supporters and voting blocs got what they wanted and now we’re all supposed to pay for it.

ARRRRGHHH! When is McCain going to act like a maverick? He’s reminding me why I really wanted Fred.

He is what he is, a creature of government and that is why you will never see him name names (unless they are conservative Republicans) or bring any reform to DC.
