I don’t see the problem. These “sweeteners” are a critical part of saving the economy. /s

Our Congress is corrupt to the core! They are obviously not listening to the American people. They only care about themselves and their pet projects.

We seem to be on a train towards socialism (which could become runaway at any time)!

I am screaming mad! Yesterday in Portland there were people who probably haven’t agreed with each other on anything political in 20 years but who joined together to protest this “bailout”. There were long haired hippies, Obama supporters, McCain supporters - all freaking pissed!

This a.m. on Fox I heard Maxine Waters blaming all this on a lack of regulation. She wasn’t even challenged!!! ENOUGH!

Whew, I was sure glad to see that not getting a rebate for riding a bike is a “National Crisis”. Thank you guys, I feel safer now knowing we have morons in the Senate

Did anyone post the names of the Senators who asked for these earmarks? This list boggles the mind at the lessor problems and issues that have been anointed by this really, really, sick group of politicians. I guess there are no real problems.

Would it be asking too much to Fire Barney Frank and Chris Dodd and maybe try to recoup a few million from Rainey? Cronyism is a crime...where is Nancy and her most ethical congress ever.....oh, busy still trying to stoke the faux crisis and cover for the Democratic Crooks like Christopher Dodd and Barney Franks! Disgusting!!!

The county, not the stock market, are reeling at the arrogance and audacity of these elected for the people. Vote 'em out!

Looks like my senators got Texas a little compensation:

Sec. 201. Deduction for state and local sales taxes

Allows residents of states that don’t pay income tax to deduct, from their federal taxes, sales tax paid over the course of the year. States that benefit include Texas, Nevada, Florida, Washington and Wyoming. The bailout bill extends this provision for 2 years at a cost of $3.3 billion.

I think this is pathetic. But I’ll try to laugh.

Claims that we are heading for the great depression, or that we are socializing a major sector of America, or that Government doesn’t have a clue, take second place to micromanaging the economy to the benefit of parochial special interests. The Senate bail-out package required the following in order to pass:

Exemption from excise tax for certain wooden arrows designed for use by children.

Our politicians have come a long ways since preparing the Declaration of Independence.

Somehow the libs will twist these provisions into help for Acorn and other far left radical anti-American socialist commie activist groups.

For example, somebody who works for Acorn rides a bike to work. They'll get 10 million bucks for that.

Can you imagine the popularity of McCain if he would of just stood by his convictions (and his campaign promises), and simply have said “unless its a clean bill without added earmarks, I'm votng NO.

Even the harshest critic of the 700 billion dollar bail-out could of respected that.
