No way do 25-30% of DEMs vote for McCain

I don't know about that. ~20% of Hillary voters have said they are supporting McCain, and there are large numbers of blue-collar and Southern Democrats who aren't going to be voting Obama. Party affiliation doesn't absolutely indicate voter preference. I spent several evenings in 2004 phone-banking Democrats in liberal Orange County, NC urging them to vote for Bush. I had more than a few positive responses.

and definitely no way do only 73% of blacks vote for Obama

Obama is widely viewed as "not authentically black" by many in the black community. Couple that with his extremely liberal positions (even more so than the average Dimocrat) on social issues, and I can see him depressing, rather than elevating, black turnout for the Dims.

Obama’s “ability to handle the economy”??? Honestly, do these people really want socialism, or do they just don’t know?

***********

They don’t know and they don’t care. All they know is “take care of ME”...”take away the blame for MY spending habits”...give me free healthcare as I do not practice a healthy lifestyle”...”punish those who have make an economic haven for themselves as it’s not fair! I want part of what they earned for MYSELF!”.

They know nothing of the American ideal. They know the “me” ideal. Not a single molecule in their being gives a damn for anything outside of their pleasures. That sums it up IMO.

I’m in Richmond, Va. Big swing state. We had our 5th annual “Republican Round Up” last Saturday, sponsored by Eric Cantor, Bill Bolling(Lt. Gov)etc. Huge BBQ, free beer and wine, bands, really awesome! 4x’s the usual crowd with standing room only. Probably 7-10% black which is up from 1-2% any previous year. Not scientific but telling about the enthusiasm over Palin. That’s all anyone talked about. “Women for Palin” stickers everywhere. Much dissapointment when they ran out. (which they did and shouldn’t have)

The Ohio result is absurd.

Not as absurd as an 8% Obama lead in Florida. Nothing is sillier than that.

HI RICHMOND!!! I’m in redneck country...Pulaski Co. of South-western Virginia.

McCain/Palin are pretty hot down here too. Our concern IS the Richmond/D.C. area with all of the libs going for Obama “ruining” the Virginia electoral votes.

You know? The Marxist way of controlling the population is providing lies in the media/to the masses. Is that all you think these polls are??? The left’s Marxist way of trying to intimidate and force the election to go socialist??

Last election Quinnipiac had all kinds of details about who they polled.

This year there’s nothing!

No demographics- age, race, sex, party preference...
Very sad

Excellent comment! I agree 100%! You know, the liberal socialists seem determined to “punish” the wealthy. I know for a fact that there are many wealthy people in this country who have worked very hard for their money, but the liberals don’t seem to care. In their view, if you have a lot of money, you should be “punished.”

Obama’s socialist plans for America will lead to disaster and I hope and pray that Americans will actually think about this before they vote.

I suspect the internaals were hidden on purpose so this poll would be a big story.

We sure don’t know who this result represents.

I’m looking at retiring to SW VA next year from Rich suburb. Great housing values out there for a retiree- and beautiful country!

Hello Pulaski! My fathers entire family is from Pulaski, Salem and Roanoke. Beautiful country, nice genuine people. Used to go to “Lakeside Amusment Park” in Roanoke back in the 60’s when I was a little boy.

This was posted earlier today if you haven’t seen it. It’s a positive read. Hopefully accurate.

Recent poll numbers beg for further investigation into how polls work and are used to
sometimes direct public opinion instead of reflect it.

The American Association of Public Opinion Research (AAPOR) provides some answers.

The AAPOR suggests that of each 100 calls a typical pollster makes just 12 fully
completed interviews of ?registered? voters will be conducted. There are 88 calls that
fail to meet the standard for a usable interview and are disgarded. There are hang-ups,
bad numbers, answering machines and most frequently, refusals to even start.
Consequently, in order to get 500 respondents, the usual number used in state polls, they
have to make 6,000 calls.

As experience has shown us, ?registered voters? are less reliable indicators of eventual
electoral outcomes than ?likely voters.? Since just 60% of registered voters are likely
voters, the number of calls balloons to 9600. This is why, although it is the actual
?gold standard? of polling, we rarely see polls of likely voters, except from the largest
companies.

AAPOR acknowledges that pollsters can make polls ?come out? as they want them to.

As AAPOR reports, there is nothing random about polls. Zogby uses Internet polls that beg
for abuse by agenda motivated respondents.

Pollsters re-call the same people and admit doing so.

How else could they meet deadlines and budget targets?

When they ?want? a poll showing McCain down 8 points, having a list of respondents who
will say they favor Obama is very useful.

Polls are regularly used as psychological weapons to dampen the fighting spirit of
Republican voters. They are never used to dampen Democrats.

Remember the final 2004 Election Day prediction from John Zogby saying John Kerry would
get at least 310 Electoral votes? He was so wrong that his pronouncement could not
possibly have been merely ?an error.?

Yes, I too hope they think long and hard about what they are voting for. Since most socialists are also evolutionist...why do they see a problem with allowing those “less fortunate” to their own demise? Isn’t that called Natural Selection???

These polls are going to result in a hue and cry on November 5th that McCain “stole” the election. Why, they will ask, did all the polls show Obama way ahead before election day and McCain ends up winning? If these polls continue to mislead the American people and McCain ends up winning the left will have an excuse to take to the streets. If this happens it will be the fault of the MSM.

Yes, they do. Most Americans seem to love socialism as long as you call it something else, and they also hate freedom.

If it is to be socialism, why go Socialist “Lite” by voting for McCain when you can have the real thing by voting for the Messiah? (sarcasm of course, but is it?)

I don’t vote for socialism or socialism lite. I vote for smaller, less intrusive government.
