If they are paying tuition and book fees what’s the problem with children of illegals attending community college?

I’m against illegal immigration and all that so don’t start in on me that way. I’m just wondering if there is some other issue about them going to community college. And, yes, I’m against them getting financial aid.

Tuition covers only a small portion of the vast sums of government tax money going into all state-sponsored higher education. That's your money that little Juan or Maria is sucking down, and if space is at a premium, they're keeping real citizens out, as well.

It'd be one thing if we had a guest worker program for lettuce pickers, but it's quite another thing to fling open the borders and let every poor person come here to pluck all the fruit, leaves and branches off the tree of the American dream. Since a community college education doesn't qualify you for much anyway (I know, I have one), then you get the Juans and Marias beating your kids out on affirmative action guidelines when it comes time to get paychecks.

My company is winding down its operations, has been for the last couple of months, and so far, about 90% of those who have found jobs elsewhere are in some sort of protected category. I'm very likely to be one of the folks there at the end, with a few weeks of severance for my troubles.
