Gwen Ifill Interview: GOP Women Defend Palin, Object to Questions About Her Family
www.pbs.org ^ | September 2, 2008 | www.pbs.org

GWEN IFILL: And there's also a big difference between running a state or running as long as she has run a state and running for one of the biggest jobs in the country. What advice do you give her on how to balance this? She's got five kids. She's got one...

REP. HEATHER WILSON: You know something? Let me say something about that. That bothers me. No one ever asked John Kennedy whether he could be president and be a dad. Nobody asks Senator Obama whether he could be president and be a dad.

But because Governor Palin is a woman, they're asking whether she can be vice president and a mom.

GWEN IFILL: But she describes herself...

REP. HEATHER WILSON: It's time to end the double standard.

GWEN IFILL: I understand what you're saying. She described herself as a hockey mom. That was her self-description.

REP. HEATHER WILSON: And one of the greatest things about Senator Obama is that he talks about the importance of being a father and a parent, but nobody asks whether he can do both at the same time. We need to end the double standard.

And the double standard, I think, is not being pushed by Republicans here at the convention. It's being asked by people in the media who should know better.

GWEN IFILL: Do you think it's a double standard?

REP. MARY FALLIN: Oh, yes, I do. In fact, I think it's a little bit of a slam towards men, saying that men can't be a good partner to a woman who works.

You know, her husband is going to be her partner right alongside her. And he has been when she's been in other offices. And that's what a family is about, is working together.

And this is the lady who will be moderating the VP Debate this Thursday. No bias there at all.

Interview was on 09/02, not 09/30

Sure does show BIAS of Ifil.... gee, does she ask her beloved Obambi if HE can serve as President with two young daughters???? I despise Ifil and every other biased left-wing hack that tries to pose as objective and fair. She is a joke.

Great to know she will be “moderating” the VP debate on Thursday night — and she has massive conflicts-of-interest since her forthcoming book worshipping Obambi will only be a great financial, personal, and professional success IF Obama/Biden can win. If they lose, only about 1/25 as many people will ever care about or consider buying her book.

Can we say CONFLICT OF INTEREST?

There, now can we get the lying vicious charlatans of the MSM to say it?

Gosh, they do get all excited because Sarah Palin once received a free facial or a bouquet of flowers from local residents in Wasilla, Alaska.

C’mon, MSM-scum, surely you can pretend to police your own, huh?

Gwen: "Mrs. Palin, have you seen the impersonations of you by Tina Fey on Saturday Night Live and if so, what do you think of them?"

Sarah: Oh, they are hilarious. She is a very gifted personality. Probably the funniest I've ever seen on that show in years. I was going to give you my impersonation of Tina Fey, but I just did."

I think that journalists turn into different animals when they hit the media centers of the big cities. They become arrogant, stupid, and detached from the real world of the those who Sarah Palin speaks for. These supposed watch dogs for freedom have become mouth pieces for the Left and the enemies of the America that keeps their media working. If they don't wake up and smell the coffee, they may find that the Left has used them for their purposes and their relevancy has ceased to exist.

Drudge is reporting she has a glowing book about Obama coming out on inaugaration day. It looks like she has a financial interest in making Palin look bad on Thursday.

This biased bitch has a book on Obama coming out in January.

She is so compromised it isn’t even funny!

She shouldn’t be allowed within a mile of the VP Debate.

You might as well have Michelle Obama as the Moderator!

Read the entire article. Thursday night should be very interesting. I can not believe that this woman was chosen as moderator. She has always been biased IMHO.

I guess if you are on the left you can be “fair and unbalanced”...
