As of now, the whole bail out fiasco cuts against us and McCain. I’ve been holding back looking for the magic shoe to drop and reading postings and threads in which so many FReepers are opining that events are going our way. Things have been going against badly us since last Friday, at least. Thank God at least the markets rallied today.

These kinds of threads are unhealthy. McCain is McBrilliant. McCain is the new Bob Dole. McCain doesn't want to win any more. McCain will be behind by 12 points next week.

Please. There are gaffes and goofs on both sides. How can anyone say that McCain doesn't want to win? And the polls are going to close.

If you folks hang on every single minute of this campaign and microanalyze every frickin' poll and use them to plan your emigration to Belize, you need to get a life. While I care deeply about this election, the way I live my life and care for my business and family are far more important than any one person who lives in the WH.

This is supposedly a conservative forum. But too many face elections like everything we are as individuals is defined by them. C'mon.

Small problem with your theory: McCain rebounded in the last couple of days, in Gallup, Rasmussen, and Battleground. He has increased his lead in AZ; still has a lead in OH; and still has a lead in FL.

Recent polls show him leading in VA. So the evidence doesn't support Morris. These comments would have been right four or five days ago, but not now.

The problem is, McCain seems too stupid to ally with 80% of the American people on this and then to attack the Dems by name. And the funny thing is that Obama is running against the most inept candidate since Dukakis and still may lose.
