Preview: Behind The Scenes With Sarah Palin (More Katie Couric)
CBS ^

Posted on 09/30/2008 11:42:16 AM PDT by Chet 99

Yesterday, Katie spent a lot of the day in Columbus, Ohio, on the campaign trail with Republican presidential nominee Sen. John McCain and his running mate, Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin. At a campaign rally, Palin said: "I do look forward to Thursday night and debating Sen. Joe Biden. We are going to talk about those new ideas, new energy for America. I'm looking forward to meet him too. I've never met him before. But, I've been hearing about his Senate speeches since I was in, like, 2nd grade." And Katie hung out with Palin behind the campaign scenes later in the day. We'll show you more on the Evening News tonight, but first, check out what Katie asked the Republican VP nominee about that very statement.

Katie Couric: You made a funny comment, you've said you have been listening to Joe Biden's speeches since you were in second grade, something like that.

Sarah Palin: It's been since like '72, yah.

Couric: You have a 72-year-old running mate - is that kind of a risky thing to say, insinuating that Joe Biden's been around a while?

Palin: Oh no, it's nothing negative at all. He's got a lot of experience and just stating the fact there, that we've been hearing his speeches for all these years. So he's got a tremendous amount of experience and, you know, I'm the new energy, the new face, the new ideas and he's got the experience based on many many years in the Senate. And voters are gonna have a choice there of what it is that they want in these next four years.

I think Sarah gave Katie a 'zinger' of an answer to her stupid question!!

Our Sarah will do great in the debate!!

As far as Katie's invitation - "We'll show you more on the Evening News tonight" - it will be a cold day in hell before I watch her show. She's going for ratings & I'm not going there!!

A friend sent this to me and I post it for your consideration. You may or may not find it relevant . .

Subject: Is there a similarity between Sarah Palin and Debora in the Book of Judges?

Since Gov. Sarah Palin was chosen for John McCain's running mate, we have heard criticism of her, as a mother, "who should be home taking care of her children"... Here is how I feel about this statement:

Have you read the book of Judges? It is very interesting, and I think it applies to us in these very days.

Here is the story (paraphrased):

God called Debora out to be a judge in those days of trouble in Israel. This was not the norm. This was the exception, because this was the need of the day. It is interesting to note the capacity in which God used Debora to bring His people back to Him, and to victory.

According to Debora, the streets weren't safe for people to go out, without being mugged, murdered or assaulted (sound familiar?).

So Debora called God's combat General, Barac, and she said "Didn't God give us victory? Why aren't you standing up and conquering the enemy"?

Barac said "You are right; I'll do it if you will go with us". Debora did go with him, but she didn't actually go into battle. She sat on a hill, and Barac knew that as long as Debora was there on that hill, God's presence and power would also be there.

Interestingly, when Debora sang her song of praise for victory, she didn't boast and say "we had a victory when I arose as a champion", or "we had victory when I arose as a leader. or when I arose as a judge".

In Chapter 5, verse 7, she praised God for the victory saying "When I, Debora, arose as a mother"..

Debora was humbled at the power of God that took the heart of faith, of a mother, and changed a nation of captives to a nation of victors!

Therefore, in view of so many American men who have been emasculated by liberal American women, and who are afraid to stand up to these hate-filled women... (these are the same women who advocate for other women killing their own unborn children, for sexual promiscuity, and much more that is against God), how do we know that God isn't using Sarah Palin, a mother of five, to bring this nation back to God?

It would not be an unprecedented act for God to have used the heart of a mother to change the heart of a nation which had rejected him! In the evil of a nation which has turned it's back on God, and specifically the things I just mentioned, I believe that it will take a woman (who has the heart of a mother) to bring us back to God!

I believe that this is exactly what God is doing, and that through this mother, and through His mercy, he is giving America another chance (not that we are deserving of another chance)!

First of all, I have not seen all of the Couric interview so I can not say whether or not she handled it. However, I am one who is so very tired of the “professional” politicians who claim to have all of the answers. Give me common sense and strong values any day of the week. I am very, very leery and skeptical of anyone who claims to have all of the answers. I want someone who can still learn. Where has it gotten us having a professional class of politicians? Why not have someone who has some actual experience as a regular person? This is why I am so in favor of term limits. I have heard and debated the pros and cons of this many times. In a nation of 300 million people these are the best we have and the only ones with the answers?

Couric and Obama she is dressed as a woman and is smiling. Couric and Palin she is dressed more as a male and is attacking! Would we expect less from MSM?

Top picture, almost dressed like a woman (man's coat, but jewelry and a woman's shirt).

Bottom picture, dressed like a man.

I guess she feels she looks more intimidating dressed in drag.

Dare I say... in the first photo, you get the distinct impression of knowing what Katie might do if Obama decided to drop his drawers. Sickening really.

Yeah....I think she wanted to look and act more feminine for BO.

I agree it’s sickening - the press isn’t doing their job. I just watched some BO rep on Fox lie through his teeth - with a straight face and unchallenged.

Governor Palin ought to ask Katie if she ever asked Obama about his relationship with an admitted terrorist.

If Obama thinks it’s proper to have the corrupt officers of fannie and freddie advising him.

Oh no, we have to ask Sarah if she has the complete list of John McCain’s legislative accomplishments.

All the while Obama’s resume is thinner than a runway model.

I just tried to post a reply to some jerk's comment on the CBS webpage, but after filling out the stupid registration it still won't let me post my comment.

Well, here's what I was going to post to some jerk's comment that Palin is a greenhorn twit and Biden is an:

"intelligent dealmaker [sic] with experience."

Well, first off I would question the intelligence of a man who thinks President Roosevelt addressed the nation on television when the stock market crashed in 1929. I would also question the "experience" of a man who thought that dividing Iraq into ethnic fiefdoms was a good idea or that paying higher taxes somehow makes one patriotic. I would then question the benefit of the "deal making" that Senator Plastic has been responsible for over the years. The big credit corporations sure love him, but his "deal making" has hurt middle class Americans.

If anyone here has a CBS account and can post comments, feel free to post this!

CBS edited out the best part of that speech (Gosh, what a surprise!!) where she talked about Biden’s “just say no to clean coal” idiocy.

If Katy had half a brain, she could have stirred things up by asking about the coal comment together with the other 2nd grade line “......did you mean to suggest that maybe Biden’s confusion about coal might be due an age problem?
