My experience has shown that the women who scream the loudest about abortion rights are the ones who have had them and/or forced their daughters to have them. I’ve volunteered many years at my Catholic Parish’s abortion alternative outreach center and nearly every phone call I received were from young girls who said they were being forced by their Mothers to have an abortion. I would tell them that by law they couldn’t be forced but it was a psychological hold that made it nearly impossible to overcome. Once baby boomers are gone, I suspect abortion will no longer hold such a valued position.

There are also a number of strongly pro-life women who have had abortions (ex. Jane Russell, Jennifer O’Neill). It was that traumatic experience that made them have a change of heart and become pro-life. What I’ve noticed about many abortion rights supporters, having watched some unedited pro-abortion rallies on C-SPAN, is that a lot of them are most likely lesbians. Of course, they generally don’t need to worry about having an abortion because they are unlikely to have an accidental pregnancy. I like to throw this joke out there about lesbians and unplanned pregnancy: “Oops, I didn’t pull the turkey baster out in time.”

I’m not so sure the issue will go away due to attrition. As a matter of fact, I think it’s snowballing.

I assert that everyone who’s had an abortion realizes, eventually, the evil they’ve done. The most vehement abortion “rights” advocates are, as you say, those who are trying to justify and cover up their guilt.

So, a woman either has had one or encouraged her daughter, or others, to have one. The guilt of that death is now on two people, and they’ll both try to justify the “choice” by encouraging others to do as they have done - it’s a “right” after all.

It’s a snowball situation. Even worse, what if the young woman becomes an abortionist in order to justify what she’s done? Think about the accumulating guilt on her and her mother. Devastating.
