I actually think Bush might have screwed up McCain’s plan. The way Bush has seemingly lost his political bearings the last 4 years, I don’t think this is some sort of concerted effort. Looks more like a WTH are you doing moment. But who knows.

What are you talking about? The President did what McCain asked him to do this afternoon in his statement. McCain called for Bush to convene an emergency summit meeting between Bush, Congressional leaders, himself and Obama to find a solution to this crisis. That didn't mess up McCain's plan -- it fulfilled it.
