I’ve already done my dumpster diving for the day.

LOL, well hope you got your shower too, since being over there!

I'm sure they are spinning this to Obambi's advantage, afterall, they are just like the MSM.

“HAHA, I wonder how much 0Bama likes Bush now?”

President Bush’s move could be seen as an attempt to aid McCain’s gambit by creating a presidential-level meeting where the Arizona Republican is present.

Obama still intends to attend the debate Friday evening.

He probly like Bush just fine.

How does this help McCain with the average voter?

It doesn’t.

All they will hear and see is BOTH of them in Washington working on a solution.

The DEMS and the MSM will cover up the fact that Obama had to be dragged back by Bush.

All McCain will have left is some commercials after the fact.

Squandered opportunity IMO.

EXACTLY, the average voter is NOT reading FR or any other political forum. They sit down & listen to MSNBC (Marxist Socialist National Barack Channel) or CNN (Commie News Network).

Bush could moderate a debate between the two over the financial mess that we find ourselves in. Have the media present.

The "average voter" doesn't even know what channel CNN, MSNBC or FNC is aired on.

Now, ask them what channel Dancing with the Stars or American Idol is on and they'll be all over that.

Here is one winner from DU!
John McCain pulls his stunt, and Obama balks. George Bush calls a meeting, and Obama attends. What’s the message? There are three.

1. John McCain is not the President, regardless of what his showboating suggests.
2. I’m willing to cooperate and work toward a solution.
3. My insight and my presence make a difference, unlike McCain’s throwing his weight around.

In addition to the Obama better watch what he eats while he is there and he should demand he gets to take his VP!

My guess is that Bush felt this was an issue that should be above politics as usual.

So what did he do? He probably put them both in the same room and said look guys neither one of you little leaguers are going to get credit for this, this is a no credit course.

This is being done for the good of the country not either one of your campaigns so get in there and get the job done and don't f___ up. And they will.

And by Tuesday we can go back to pretending that McCain is our answer and hoping that Millhouse gets no closer to the White house than he is.Just my take.

For someone who is sooooo concerned about how the MSM will portray this, you seem oblivious to the fact that the same MSM would have crucified President Bush if he had tried (or seemed to try) to exclude Obama from the negotiations in DC.

And, just an aside, but the “El Presidente Jorge” crap brings your posting motivations into question for me.

Obama is not only a Senator, he is his party's standard-bearer. He had to be invited.

Do you understand that he has no choice but to work with these America hating traitors.

He never takes the low road, no matter what the evil scum throw at him.

Obama is going to have to use his debate prep time, to prep for the economic meeting.

Yes. There is no choice if we are to prevent America from going down the crapper.

EXACTLY, the average voter is NOT reading FR or any other political forum.

But one thing you forgot is the timing. Obama made sure he got out there and gave his "speech" in time for the 7PM news and (I'm sure) the MSM made a big deal out of this. Only after this mini news cycle did Bush call him to the principal's office. Obama was tooken.

Excuse me, but in case you don't recall, Obama excluded himself from the discussion this afternoon. George Bush threw him a lifeline. I'm not concerned with how the MSM portrays this, I'm concerned what the unconvinced/undecided voters think about this. The folks like you are "inside baseball" analysts who award style points to GOP politicians for acane and nuanced political machinations that only wanna-be inside the Beltway pundits can truly appreciate. As to the "El Presidente Jorge" reference, I treat the current President with the same respect that he shows all of us. When he comes up with well-reasoned arguments, and common sense solutions, he's "Mr. President"; when he plays the bi-partisan fool, or refuses to defend the perfectly defensible (e.g. the warnings that he and other Republicans, Senator McCain included that this credit crisis was on the way), when he plays his cards so close to his vest that none of the voters understand what he's up to, or when he takes totally indefensible stances on issues of prime importance (e.g. illegal immigration), he becomes, "El Presidente", or whatever other derogatory appellation I may choose. Since when did George Bush become the second incarnation of Ronald Reagan?
