Over the weekend, members of my Administration and congressional leaders worked on legislation to address the crisis in our Nation’s financial markets. They made good headway toward a bill that can pass the House and Senate in a timely manner, and the American people appreciate their efforts.

GRRRrrrr!!!!!

Some excerpts from OUR President:

"They made good headway toward a bill that can pass the House and Senate in a timely manner, and the American people appreciate their efforts."

"Everyone recognizes that it’s not easy to write a bill of this magnitude in a timely manner, and all those who have worked so hard over the weekend and continue this morning deserve the thanks and appreciation of every American."

Hey George! Don't pretend to speak for me on this fiasco!!

Credit is the problem; more credit is not the solution. Deflation now!

The problem is deflation will hurt badly in the short term and that’s all people’s attention span is good for. We NEED deflation for the long run, but it will likely hurt in the short term.

Of course putting this off is only going to make things worse in the future.

They left this line out from the president’s speech:

“The hard-working and ethical bankers, traders, corrupt CEOs/board of directors deserve the thanks and appreciation of every American. But for their valiant efforts, American taxpayers would be forced to carry excess cash in their wallets - this making them potential targets of muggers, thieves, and assorted other scum.”

Don't they have to “pork it up” before they can pass anything. Imagine all these tools, running around looking for projects they can finance...

Mismanagement, corruption, unregulated greed, apathy, forget 9-11, now the chickens are really coming home to roost, as these incompetent boobs are pushing the America of our forefathers into the dustbin of history..

Yup...This little “Package” is causing the dollar to drop like a rock and crude oil to go up like a rocket. We are sitting over 127 dollars on oil right now. I think that is up over 20 dollars today alone. But the rise up started after this bailout was announced. So this is yet another way the bankers crooked debt gets piled back onto the taxpayer. By the way Britain, France, and Germany all said no to as to getting involved in this bailout. They know better. It is time to start calling your representatives and tell them to say no to the FED, and to President bush. Do you want your dollar to have any value or not? Do want to be paying through the nose for gasoline and heating fuel?

Exactly what name/number is the bill? Word is it is very short; I’d like to read it.

That needs repeating my FRiend. I am completely amazed at the amount of McCain/Obama threads in relation to the economy threads. I have this really sick feeling in my gut that people do not understand how serious things are right now. We actually entered "Depression II™" for a short time on Thursday (late morning/early afternoon). And the ONLY thing holding us back right now is that Americans "think" that this bailout will solve the problem. It won't, It can't, and our government knows it perfectly well and is deceiving everyone in an effort to stop panic.

Thanks. There were several mistakes in what I said. I was rather stressed with the slowness of FR myself.

Major surgery is imperative to remove an invasive cancerous bureaucracy from the irresponsible patient, the American government, which keeps smoking those deadly Globalist cigarettes.

Cutting useless and wasteful Federal agencies, rather than adding new ones should be the order of the day. But Congress is stone deaf when it comes to the will of the American people it so fallaciously “serves”.

GRR-r-r-r-r-r is Right! I cannot wait until this Yellow Stain of Texas slinks back to Crawford with the smudge that is certain to his entry in the book on presidential legacy. I almost wish that Gore would have won the 2000 contest so we could actually have a "better loser" to blame for the economic mess we're now in. I most assuredly wished that he'd lost the 2000 GOP presidential primary to McCain because we'd be riding the same kind of crest of optimism and hope that Ronald Reagan left us with when he left.

We all do, but it's the only way that our economy will have a chance of surving. We need to suffer the mini-depression now. If we wait, then we will be suffering a massive depression later.
