These are serious times," said Barack Obama recently. "And they call for a serious debate about where we need to take the nation.”[5] That's true! So where does he want "to take our nation?" How does his version of "service" fit his vision of CHANGE? And what will it cost in terms of freedom, privacy, taxes, and government control?
There's nothing wrong with the old voluntary, personal service to the poor and needy. For centuries, Christian missionaries have given their lives and comforts to serve God among the sick, hungry and dying people in distant parts of the world. Others have shown the same God-given compassion in their own community. They demonstrated His love, shared His life-saving Truths, and brought hope as well as help to the needy.
Obama's plan is radically different. Aimed at socialist change, it would raise "religious" boundaries, limit free speech, and ban divisive truths. It must be tolerant of today's amoral values and militantly intolerant toward traditional values. And -- like the tactics outlined in Saul Alinsky's "Rules for Radicals" -- it would use deception and "agitation" to create conflict, and the Hegelian/Marxist dialectic process to manipulate minds and establish the planned solidarity.[6]
Obama learned it all during his years as "Community Organizer" in Chicago.
The transforming power of "SERVICE LEARNING"
"Service learning" isn't a new phenomenon. It has been well tested by U.S. educators for more than a decade. What's new is the scale of Obama's plan. His massive system would press students and citizens of all ages in a revolutionary government-led program to change the way we think and relate to each other. A more descriptive term would be mass brainwashing! He outlines it on his official website:

This is one of the most disturbing parts of Mr. Obama’s platform, for sure.
The constitution allows conscription for military service, but for anything else it would seem to be prohibited by the 13th Amendment.
I think the idea has to be discussed in a lot more detail during the remainder of the campaign. I think exploring the idea publicly could turn off a lot of young Obama supporters who might not be as pleased to put off several years of their life for this- you know the ones who might be planning to get established in their careers and families.

Absolutely!! This needs to be out there more...but doubt the MSM will give it the time of day. Amazing..
Government is dangerous. The greatest crimes in history have been committed by governments. We’ll wake up one morning, and our freedom will be gone.
Fortunately the laziness of our young as well as their skepticism will derail the more grander aspects of Obama’s fascist plan for America.
Make no mistake, Obama seeks to undermine and destroy free enterprise, and more broadly, freedom in this country.
Every now and then the truth gets out. ‘He will make you work hard...’ and ‘Don’t take a job in the private sector, but go work for some left wing bulls**t non-profit’ (his wife speaking to kids whose parents had presumably just spent well over $100K in college tuition so that they could get that good private sector job).
It would be good for McCain to touch on this somehow to dampen some of the enthusiasm for Der Leader among the young. Revolutionary chic is the thing, as long as you don’t have to live with the consequences.

We are all assuming that Obama wishes to stop at the American Presidency. What if, like every position he holds, this is just a stepping stone to his real goal?
Maybe we should pause before further enabling this jerk.
The answer is civil disobedience. Don’t register, don’t report, and if you do report, refuse to work. Don’t rent office space to this agency, don’t sell them office supplies, don’t connect their phones, don’t give them free parking. Don’t block their doors or daub them with red paint... just let them rot with no one to serve.
He’s marketing it as voluntary. His supporters believe him. Young people believe him.
It’s voluntary like Social Security was temporary.
He is just trying to emulate the G.W. Bush Program of AmeriCorps.

My daughter attends a private “christian” school in Minneapolis and last year they made “service to community” a graduation requirement. She had to spend 40 hours voluntering at a inner-city school. Yes, I complained to the “powers” at the school but they did not hear me and said if she did not participate, she could not graduate next year.
I’m fairly sure they are getting gov’t grant money to ipliment this requirement. This will happen in all schools, in most grades and probably become mandatory at work.
Service Learning = Indentured Servitude = SLAVERY
I am told there are similar requirements already in place in PA.

Obama has, through his nonprofit group, “Public Allies,” been organizing and training a political cadre since 1993. There are fifteen fully-staffed and populated chapters, operating under the watchful eye of Michelle Obama.
The Obama Campaign is also conducting, at the state level, a “national program for social change,” called “Camp Obama.”
Obama Campaign’s website promises that “you’ll get the kind of experience that Barack got as a community organizer on the South Side of Chicago,” and “Camp Obama is your chance to step up and become a leader in this movement.”
Movement? What movement?
Public Allies and Camp Obama are Alinsky training program designed to build a core group of “community organizers” dedicated to “social change” in their communities.
Their charter will be to bring about “Change.” They’ll do this through threats, pressure, tension and confrontation — getting people “pissed off” — the tactics of Alinsky.
Obama is cloning thousands of baby Obamas — and on our dime.
A “movement” — dedicated to social change by getting people “pissed off” — and there will be thousands of them.
If Obama should sit in the Oval Office, just what do you think he has planned for these guys?
And — if Obama shouldn’t sit in the Oval Office, just what do you think he has planned for these guys?
And what color shirts will they wear?
