ok, I’ll say it. This is very disappointing to me. This whole thing should be NOTHING, and by stalling they’re not only drawing more attention to it, but making it more than it is. They’re allowing this to turn into a witch hunt.

This started out as a “we have nothing to hide” and has turned into a lot of subterfuge and non-denial denials. By not responding to subpoenas they’re acting like Dick Cheney and that they’re above the law. It’s making them look really bad, and that they have something to hide - whether they do or not.

They should all cooperate, as transparently as possible, get it over with, show the world how right they all were, and move on! That would give the MSM one less thing to hammer them with because there would be no story at that point. The longer they drag this on, the worse they look, and we can’t afford that right now.

This should be done quickly and as transparently as possible so everyone will shut the hell up about it. They have the opportunity to show what heros they are by doing the right thing. I don’t get why they’re not taking it. They need to control the story, but their letting the story control them.

If this is McCain or his campaign’s doing, I think it’s a huge mistake.

Yes, but there is a bigger story - Icegate, the RATs version of Watergate. It took two years to bring down a sitting President, in a pre-internet age.

Today, we can find perps in 24 hours, arrested, tried and convicted in 24 hours.

Have you been paying attention? Did you read the statements from Hollis French, the guy running the investigation? No matter what he clearly planned on putting out a one-sided hit piece of an investigative report in the middle of October to have maximum impact on the national election. Meanwhile, his lackey Branchflower was busy interviewing witnesses without notifying attorneys, setting up an incredibly dubious “tip-line”, and refusing to turn over evidence to the Palin camp. The mainstream media would have taken this report as gospel truth and it would have been a disaster for the McCain campaign. This was by far the best move on their part, the truth is on Palin’s side but it needs to be settled AFTER the election.

What? So you believe jumping into the middle of the ring at this political "circus" would benefit Palin? Can't you see a set up when it is in front of you? Are you not aware the head of the Committee doing the investigations is a Democrat and strong supporter of Obama and has spoken of "an October Surprise" publically? Did you not read the emails released a few days ago by Palin that detail exactly what her problems were with Monegan? The guy was TOTALLY off the reservation when it came to procedure and abiding by the Administrations policies. Did you know Monegan was FIRED as police chief of Anchorage? The guy has "issues" and he himself has admitted that neither Palin or anyone else in the Administration ever asked him to fire anyone.

Palin and her atty are doing exactly the right thing by jumping in the face of these partisan hacks and doing it publically.

Hollis French has stated publicaly, “the results would be damaging”, “could lead to impeachment” and an “October surprise”. This is before the investigation even started and you want Gov Palin to participate in this? That would be insane.

When the other side wants to "get it over with" by putting out a partisan hit purporting to be an "objective" report coming out on Halloween to have the maximum damage to the McCain/Palin ticket on November 4, the right thing to do may be to deliberately stall the report to past the election date. Will the Democrats make some hay out of it before the election? Of course. But in the situation as it is, they will make worse propaganda out of it if you cooperate with their plans.

This is a fishing expedition, and everyone can be embarrassed over something.

Remember the Outing of Valerie Plame fishing expedition when Scooter Libby was crucified for something that had nothing to do with the original allegations?

Stay very clear of political witch hunts. Truth and justice are never the objectives.

Sorry, but you are wrong. Government has hacks that are out of control. Alaska has a review board for these matters. The investigations are reminiscent of kangaroo courts for political reasons. When Government goes out of control the public has a right to question it and the abused are revolting. I would guess that most of the Alaskan citizens are aware of this political hack job and do not like it. Wouldn't be surprised that knowing the Alaskan people they might run these bunch of hacks out on a rail.

Are you a Democrat? Have you not seen the Democrat show trial fixation since Watergate.

The media would put the witch hunt on wall to wall live TV and then talk about it the rest of the time, always with their interpretation.

At least this way, they have to gin up their daily lies. This story greeted me when I signed on the computer. It’s always something from the media whores, and a one sided view of that something?
