"Given the gravity of this situation, and based on conversations I have had with both Secretary Paulson and Chairman Bernanke, I have asked my economic team to refrain from presenting a more detailed blue-print of how an immediate plan might be structured until the Treasury and the Federal Reserve have had an opportunity to present their proposal."

In other words, Obama says "I don't have any idea what to do about it because I don't know anything about economics, but I'm gonna wait for the Republicans to come up with something so I can tell you why it won't work."
Leadership you can hope in.</sarcasm>

And here I thought Bush was President.

I think you have nailed it. Keep my mouth shut and wait (thinks NoBama)
I had to laugh yesterday when I heard his commercial regarding Wall Street. This one said in part that it was not a time for politics but rather a time for leadership.
Ummmm, didn’t McCain say that the previous day. I wonder how many times Obama was late for class cause he missed the bus? More often than not I think!!!!

Or ?? Anything that someone can come up with ( so I ,,, Obama can take credit for it )... and so as long the Democrats don't get exposed in this... and so as long as we can blame it on the Republicans.

I told Franklin Raines and Jim Johnson to lie low until this passes. Once the Fed and Treasury Dept release their plan, then I will say I had recommended the plan to them in private beforehand.

I work with someone (leadership position) who never offers ideas or solutions. She just hangs back. If anyone comes up with an idea, she attacks it and tries to shoot it down. If she can't kill the idea, she will immediately take credit for it.
I once saw a short conversation between her and her boss in which she:
Attacked a proposed idea.
Back-peddled and supported the idea, said she'd always supported it, and claimed ownership of it.
She then detected that she had mis-read her boss's position and so she:
Switched gears and rejected the idea (again), and blamed someone else for coming up with it.
She survives in the post by being a protected species.

The irony of the situation is that this would be a fantastic opportunity for him to propose a solution, if he were capable of it. A true leader doesn't wait to see what other people come up with and respond to it. A leader proposes, inspires, convinces, and implements ideas.
Obama should join our Boy Scout troop. Our Senior Patrol Leader would show him how to lead!

Karl Marx doesn’t have a chapter on how to deal with this?
Man, is that statement ever a load of BS.

I here the Witch of Endor is still in business. Maybe she can call up the spirit of Marx
from hell so Obama can get his economic talking points.
