When President George W. Bush nominated Henry Paulson to serve as Treasury Secretary, Republicans raised a red flag that Paulson, who, along with his wife, has strong ties to the Democrat party, would not be an honest broker with Republicans.
That seems to have been borne out, with sources inside of Treasury reporting that Paulson briefed Sen. Barack Obama and his campaign advisers on the Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac bailout plan before offering such a briefing to the McCain campaign.
In fact, the McCain campaign had sought a similar briefing several days ago as word spread that a bailout plan was to be unveiled and had been turned down by Paulson's senior staff.
The next question is: Why was the Obama campaign so keen on getting advanced word about the bailout?
"They have a huge problem with the mortgage and housing market story, and everyone is missing it," says a Republican political media consultant with ties to the Obama campaign due to the bipartisan nature of the firm he does work with. (snip)

Don’t forget Bernie who died shortly after being reemed out by Obammie for using profanity at one of the Obamanoid get togethers.
bastards.... that seems to cover it....
Who manages the financial services regulatory agencies and answers to the President? Barney Frank. Maybe Frank was to busy boarding prostitutes to pay attention to the Federal Reserve, SEC, US Treasury, Fannie Mae and the other important financial services regulators.
Barney Frank is a text book definition for being gross incompetent and overtly negligent. He heads up the United States House Committee on Financial Services! He is directly responsible for the collapse of the banking industry. But you will never see a hearing with him on the hot seat.
Barney Frank must resign.
Most of America does not know that 2 major Russian stock exchanges have been halted for 3 days due to financial instability with their banking system.
This is serious.....Obama would let the UN make the decisions.
The MSM isn’t saying word one about this. Until they do, this will remain an internet news item
bookmark for later.
Once more. Jorge El Segundo demonstrated his loss of touch with reality with this guy.
Most conservatives and “real” Republicans will live to curse the name of Bush.
Wrong. They are ignoring it.
Will someone explain to me what the deal is with Pres Bush and Democrats? I couldn’t believe when I heard that Paulson had briefed Obama before briefing Sen McCain.
Same thing happened with Condi Rice and Obama over Georgia.
Then we have election night 2006 and for weeks after with Pres Bush being happy to work with the Dem leadership. He very seldom stands up to them on anything.
Just whose side is President Bush on in this race? This enquiring mind would like to know which I am missing in the equation!
where is Judicial Watch when you need them?......we need a LOUD voice and we don’t have it.....though I think Glenn Beck is finally finding his manhood on this crap.....
The problem with Bush is he is not (and never was) a partisan. He’s always wanted to ‘play nice’ with the RATs, and now he (and all of us) have gotten burned real bad. No wonder he has such a low approval rating (it would be possible without the conservative vote pulling those ratings down).
"Hot bottom" on the hot seat?
