The McCain campaign rolled out ads targeted at voters in Michigan and Ohio today, focusing on job growth in the two Rust Belt states. As one might imagine, the Michigan ad focuses on the auto industry, while Ohio’s is more general to the overall economy.

He should have done this ten days ago, but better late than never.

Whichever candidate has the edge on the economy by November will almost definitely win. These ads will help.

I like how positive those ads are. Especially the Michigan ad. Nice work.

There’s an Obama ad running in Ohio by a former football player for the Washington Redskins named Ray Schoenke. It sounds like he says “Ray Shockey” (of the Giants), who of course played for the Miami Hurricanes and was their biggest trash talker against the Buckeyes in the 2002 National Championship game, so Ohio’s hate him. So this guy will not impress the voters. His speil is he is president of the “American Hunters and Shooters Association”, and he KNOWS that our guns will be safe whether McCain or Obama are elected (oh yea?), BUT McCain is so terrible on a whole list of things (jobs, blah blah, union issues, etc.)

This guy is also going around with Rocky Saxbe, former Ohio GOP legislator and son of late Ohio Senator and Nixon Attorney General Charles Saxbe.

Politics indeed makes strange bedfellows.

Rocky Saxbe is the classic country club Republican who Rush mentions often. I’m not sure he is even qualifies as a Republican anymore.

If it is the same ad posted down thread(s) it’s as stupid is as stupid gets.

Empty suit porkola - money for re-tooling? That’s BS. There’s plenty of dough for that.

The auto companies want gubmint/taxpayers to pick up the health care legacy costs, that’s what killing them.

Along with CAFE standards, and the manufacturing states are not “right-to-work” states.

McCain needs to out-pander the Empty Suit to the empty suits voters.

Economic Darwinism takes longer than it should when gubmint keeps cropping up the dead.
