Obama Tried to Stall GIS' Iraq Withdrawal

WHILE campaigning in public for a speedy withdrawal of US troops from Iraq, Sen. Barack Obama has tried in private to persuade Iraqi leaders to delay an agreement on a draw-down of the American military presence.

According to Iraqi Foreign Minister Hoshyar Zebari, Obama made his demand for delay a key theme of his discussions with Iraqi leaders in Baghdad in July.

"He asked why we were not prepared to delay an agreement until after the US elections and the formation of a new administration in Washington," Zebari said in an interview.

Obama insisted that Congress should be involved in negotiations on the status of US troops - and that it was in the interests of both sides not to have an agreement negotiated by the Bush administration in its "state of weakness and political confusion."

"However, as an Iraqi, I prefer to have a security agreement that regulates the activities of foreign troops, rather than keeping the matter open." Zebari says.

This is potentially devastating, especially since the Obama campaign release to explain it actually confirmed it. A presidential candidate is NEVER supposed to get involved with ‘live’ foreign policy.

I’m sure the media will dress it up and try to sweep it under the rug.

“I’m sure the media will dress it up and try to sweep it under the rug.”

They’re way ahead of you. I dare you to find a headline mentioning this scandal without words like, “Obama campaign denies the McCain campaign’s wild/dangerous rumors.”

Treason,,, Treason,,,,Treason,, prosecute him,, the thug.
That low-life obviously hasn’t ever sat in a dirt hole with a rifle, for weeks turning into months, wondering when and if you you might ever make it home.

This ALONE is all the reason any real American needs to vote against him.

It’s all over except the screaming. Obama’s going to have to fight to carry New York, assuming he even does that. He’s lost, unless he can score big time during the debates, which I doubt.

I may not like McCain, but I know a sharp debater when I see one, and when I don’t. McCain can think fast and rebut/reply/refute on his feet. Obama needs a teleprompter to remember to breathe.

Is it treason? The Constitution defines the criminal charge very narrowly, but the court of vox populi can convict him at the polls, and sentence him to an historical footnote. This even discredits him with the angry left wing moon bats.

Those stupid events have absolutely nothing in common with debates. They are nothing but the media ilks' Q & A sessions!!!

The article says BHO wants Congress to be involved in negotiations with the Iraqis.

This guy is a Constitutional lawyer?

And he is running for President?

This is a campaign commercial — I hope.

That’s a negative smear campaign! They’re exploiting the tragedy of that GI by letting him make that statement of his own free will after causing him to bitterly cling to guns and religion!
