ANCHORAGE, Alaska (CNN) -- Alaskan Gov. Sarah Palin will not cooperate with a legislative investigation into the firing of her public safety commissioner, the McCain-Palin presidential campaign announced Monday, accusing supporters of Democratic rival Barack Obama of manipulating the inquiry for political motivations.
Former Palin Press Secretary Meg Stapleton told reporters in Anchorage that the investigation has been "hijacked" by "Obama operatives" for the Democratic presidential nominee -- namely, Alaska state Sen. Hollis French, the Democratic lawmaker managing the investigation and an Obama supporter. French has denied working on behalf of the Obama campaign.

Amen! Keep fighting, Sarah! Don’t let the liberals bring you down! We’re rooting for you!!!!
Meg Stapleton is very impressive.
If there is one thing I’ve learned about these phony, baloney “special prosecutors” over the past 15 years, it’s that subpoenas are used when you haven’t got crap and you’re just hoping that maybe you can squeeze out some sort of cheesy “perjury” charge. It’s better than nothing.
The lede to this story is very biased......they did not say they were not going to cooperate, but that the probe is a smear campaign due to the leader.
These slimes are misusing our legal system to fish for headlines. That should be a crime.
Palin needs to fight this garbage hard so that when she is in office, she won’t be hobbled at every turn by these bozos.
Good move. This is a partisan witch hunt. The Palins wanted to know why a state trooper who had tasered his 10 year stepson, drank beer while on duty, and threatened to kill members of their family was still on the force. This is a great big nothing and naturally the Obama campaign’s fingerprints are all over it. Sooner or later they will pay for their dirty tricks.
I can’t believe that a Republican isn’t going to just sit there and take it.
This is something new.
How dumb does this turd think we are.
She is. I saw her on CNN. She’s very, very good.
They need to use her more often. She is intelligent and she knows Palin very well. Best yet, she doesn’t suffer fools and isn’t afraid to fire back at media falsehoods. I really like Meg Stapleton.
No more than 270 electoral votes worth of brain sucked mindless voting.
The McCain camp knows this is a nothing deal and in the end will prove to be so, further making the dems look even more (if that's possible) the fools.
But by not cooperating the drive-bys will be consumed by this topic. A classic stall, with the lead--stretch out the campaign. Oh, they're not afraid of The Zero. They're just being smart by having the discussion be about nothing and reduce the chance of pitfalls.
Rove, you magnificent bastard!
They also need to go full Roman on these pukes. Deep Deep background on all involved . And each family member. Legal history, divorce actions . bank accounts , political affiliations , anything. Make all of these people and their families public figures . Let them know the pain of election tampering.
Maybe little big ears could go on Fox News and explain why she should subject herself to his slime accusations!
This was just on MSNBC The Rachel Maddow show. No I’m not a fan. Anyhow she was talking with Walt Monegan (the firee) He really reminded me of Jerry Lundergard (The Car Salesman in Fargo). He said the Governor never told me to fire trooper Wooten but she kind of implied it. “Hey, I’m cooperating with you here.” “I don’t want a finders fee, this is my deal”
Are they talking about “Abusergate” or “Tasergate”? ;-)
We should start calling this "Abusergate" instead of "Troopergate".
