I remember a few years ago Randall Kennedy complained that when he and a white colleague approached a check-in desk at a hotel at the same time, the clerk addressed the white guy first. This is a guy who has a paranoid delusional concept of racism. An illustration of how emotional intensity distorts perceptions and judgment. And he's a Harvard law professor, passing this crap on to a bunch of soon to be lawyers. Good luck America.

I've had similar conversations with an assortment of colleagues. My standard reply to the “riot” threat-”that's OK, 5.56 be our friend”-usually isn't understood and simply draws a blank stare.

This is a given. The ONLY way someone would not vote for Obama is because they are racist. Just like the only reason to not vote for McCain is because they are racist.

The democrats are already on the verge of crying racism if we fail to elect the worst nominee in the history of the United States. We know almost nothing about this guy who has a shady past. Is he really black, or is he arab like his name suggests? Is he an American citizen? Is he a moslum? Why won't he release his college transcripts and birth certificate? Is Barack Hussein his real name? Why does he have so many connections to known terrorists and racist communists? Who paid for his college education? The only reason that many blacks in the USA have any interest at all in this election is because Obama is black. If Obama had been honest and stated he is an Arab-African or better a Caucasian-Arab-African, most of the blacks would have just yawned and lost interest.

Sorry boy and girls, it is precisely because boyBO ISN'T Jackie Robinson that he has not gained the respect of the majority of white people.........the whole reason for the success of JR in getting the whole nation to love and respect him was because he was a superlative athlete and better than most of the white players in MLB first....boyBO is a phony empty suit and is totally unqualified to be POTUS.....JR made it in baseball as the first black man because he was first a great ball player, period. You’re absolutely right about this. I’d vote for a Sowell - Williams ticket. They’re black, but that wouldn’t be the reason I voted for them. They’re conservatives. Obama is a leftist radical. His race has nothing to do with it! And I think we need less inflammatory rhetoric from militants. One Philadelphia columnist (a black woman with a Muslim name) is already on the record as saying that if McCain is elected there’ll be a full-fledged race war. I’ll bet gun and ammo sells are going through the roof.

Although my politics have swung even further to the right since 1996, back then I would have given just about anything to have Colin Powell leading the ticket instead of Bob Dole. While I admire Dole in many ways, Powell was just coming off his tour as Chariman of the Joint Chiefs, was resoundingly popular and I would have unhesitatingly voted for him and supported his campaign in every possible way.
