ABC did a segment on this pollster of pollsters a few weeks back. In reading the comments it appears most of those paying attention to him are from the left. They are getting very irate now that his electoral votes have switched from Obama leading to McCain leading.

I think that McCain will get over 289, because I think NV, NM, and CO will be Red by November 1st.

The numbers on their map don’t seem to add up though. Even with CO and NV, McCain only has 274.

I am hoping he can flip one major state like MI or PA. Even WA would do it. That will make up for a loss in IA, and possibly losing CO and NV. We shall see.

You know, my first reason for wanting McCain to win is that he is better, at least, than Obama. Loves the country more, is willing to fight for it, etc.

But a very close follow-up reason is to watch the fall-out, the melt-down, the anguish, the despair, the incredulous misery, the ranting and wailing and howling frenzy of the liberals. The gnashing of teeth. The rending of clothes. So sweet, their tears. All that.

Can only imagine to what level the networks and MSM et al; will ratchet up their attacks. Will they all morph into Olberman and Matthews? Think the ‘foam’ is going to fly.

I think it is a weighted average based on odds of winning. Of the top ten population states, there are three which are near the edge: Ohio, Pennsylvania, and Michigan. Since the last two are on the Obama side (38 EV) giving a weighted average of all three gives McCain more votes than just calling winners or losers.

McCain is going to win this with over 300 EVs. The left is going to go completely apesh*t on November 4th. Got to go to the market and stock up on popcorn.

I couldn’t agree more. I’m so sick of celebs, and media members trying to push this election for Obama. It angers and distresses me all at once. I think the quote is from Conan:

“To crush your enemies, see them driven before you, and to hear the lamentations of the women.”

That’s what I hope to see happen. :)

Pay Attention

You couldn’t get a job at McDonalds and become district manager after 143 days of experience.

You couldn’t become chief of surgery after 143 days of experience of being a surgeon.

You couldn’t get a job as a teacher and be the superintendent after 143 days of experience.

You couldn’t join the military and become a colonel after a 143 days of experience.

You couldn’t get a job as a reporter and become the nightly news anchor after 143 days of experience.

But
‘From the time Barack Obama was sworn in as a United State Senator, to the time he announced he was forming a Presidential exploratory committee, he logged 143 days of experience in the Senate. That’s how many days the Senate was actually in session and working.

After 143 days of work experience, Obama believed he was ready to be
Commander In Chief, Leader of the Free World .... 143 days.

We all have to start somewhere. The Senate is a good start, but after 143 days, that’s all it is - a start.

AND, strangely, a large sector of the American public is okay with this and campaigning for him. We wouldn’t accept this in our own line of work, yet some are okay with this for the President of the United States of America?

Come on folks, we are not voting for the next American Idol!

Nor would you want your Airline Captain to be only 143 days since his first solo.

I can totally agree with these sentiments. Especially the "wailing and gnashing of teeth" & "howling frenzy" bits.

I count into the 280s without cutting into the heart of Obama territory. New Mexico and New Hampshire are both Obama states that could move to McCain pretty easily, maybe Iowa too. If it gets any further than that it will turn into a 400 EV landslide with Pennsylvania and Michigan and a few others sliding over. I don't see that happening with so much hatred of President Bush out there.

PA will be red.

MI and WI certainly could be.

NH also could be.

And the one as far a suprise/sleeper I’d watch would be WA. The blatant theft of the governship is 04 has created a backlash that no one is watching nationally, and its going to reverberate up and down the ticket. That’s a state I’d be watching for a suprise.

EXCELLENT POINTS!!

I would like to add one:

You couldn’t be a paperboy and become head of the circulation dept. in 143 days.

Anyone else with ‘You couldn’t..’ analogies?

“Come on folks, we are not voting for the next American Idol!”

Unfortunately, about 25-30% of the voting electorate thinks that we ARE.

Obama will garner a minimum of 40-45% of the total votes cast. Guaranteed.

Look at the electoral vote map at the linked page in this article. The country is becoming truly “divided”: a “red core” vis-a-vis three “blue fringe” areas. The divisions that exist between them are far greater than “electoral” - these divisions are at the deepest cultural and philosophical levels. As such, they represent a diametrically-opposed vision of what America was, is, and should become. And increasingly, the rancor between “the Red and the Blue” seems to be all-but unbridgeable.

What happened the LAST time the country was so divided?

- John
