They edited portions out so there would be enough time for the round table of pundits to explain to the public what they just watched (rather than allow people to draw their own conclusions).

Sarah is a conservative. There's nothing in her remarks about philosophical principles and the conduct of government any conservative would disagree with. I think Americans know where she stands. There's a steadfastness to her views people will find reassuring.

I just finished watching the 20/20 interview here on the west coast. I think she did just fine. She can handle these tough questions, didn’t get tripped up by what Gibson was CLEARLY trying to do, and we finally get out in her own words her take on the so called troopergate “scandal” and the book banning “rumors.” I give her a solid B.

GIBSON: I take your point about Lincoln’s words, but you went on and said, “There is a plan and it is God’s plan.”

An obvious propaganda chop job to shield Gibson concession to Palin.

Oh my gosh.

They took a hatchet to her! This is blatant!

God has a plan for all of us. I don't believe anything in the world happens by coincidence or blind fate. There is a Mover behind all things.

The American people are not stupid. I don't they care what she says about issue X or issue Y as much they care whether she shares their values. And she does. That is really going to make the difference in November and the polls can't capture why people vote based on their gut. You can't explain that rationally to a pollster.

Let me ask you this. That question where she would not fall into the trap Gibson was setting for her about Israel attacking Iran. He asked it 3 times and each time very forcefully back in his face said we will not second guess Israel in how it chooses to defend itself. How well is that going to resonate with the Jewish people given who is on the other ticket?

Is there any word on how Levin obtained this? Is there other full transcripts of other portions of the interview? I dig a Google search and found zilch.

I have always maintained people will have far more respect for an individual who stands strong for what he or she truly believes, then in someone who changes their positions with based on their perceptions of the public “mood”

What about free will?

They shouldn’t have edited out “war is hell and I hate war”.

I don’t know if you would want this, but on John McCain’s blog it has what is said to be tonight’s program (complete) on video.

What about free will?

God is outside of time and has no future or past. He simply is. He created everything including us and knew the decisions we would make before we were created. He knows the past, present and future position of every particle in the universe--if He didn't, it would be incapable of existence. No matter how hard we might try, we cannot frustrate His preordained plan. But at the same time we do have real free will and are responsible for our choices.

If you can't perfectly reconcile these two truths, then you do not possess the infinite Mind of God. Which I'm assuming you don't.

"No matter how hard we might try, we cannot frustrate His preordained plan. But at the same time we do have real free will and are responsible for our choices.

" How can all be preordained and yet have us with the ability to go in any direction WE choose? This statement as you have made it is at odds with itself.

"If you can't perfectly reconcile these two truths, then you do not possess the infinite Mind of God. Which I'm assuming you don't."

LOL, no I suppose I don't. The free will thing, which I believe in, and your notion that He knows or knew every decision he has and will make flies in the face of the free will argument. Much of religion is based on faith, which I have plenty of when it comes to my beliefs and I can except the all knowing aspect of Him but don't know about the idea that all has already been pre ordained (for us as individuals). I rather think God has given us free will in order to test us. Presenting temptation to see our strength and suffering among others to see our compassion.

These things in no way bother me, that suffering and wrong is such a large part of the world we live in, because I do believe in God's mercy and that there is a plan but that the plan is for each of us individually. We as individuals can fulfill his wishes for us or not based on how we react to the tests he presents us throughout our lives. In the end we alone determine whether or not we will see Him when our life here is done.
