According to NBC and the New York Times, Democrats have put enormous pressure on Barack Obama to start hitting John McCain in a more personal manner and to get his momentum back in this race. Team Obama says that the “bed-wetting” will not knock them off their game plan, but according to Andrea Mitchell, that may change. Sources in the campaign tell her that they will start getting personal with John McCain and perhaps Sarah Palin, starting today:

So they think their attacks on Sarah haven’t been personal ENOUGH?? What? Are they now going to mock the brand of lipstick she uses? I can’t imagine they could go much lower than they have already. But then, we’re talking about a bunch of deranged liberals.

START getting personal? You can’t get more personal than the campaign insults about her own pregnancy and her unmarried daughters’ and all the trash talk these righteous liberals managed to get spewed on the media.
One can only hope they will reach the pinnacle of old message getting boring and people will start turning off the hysterics.

Personal attacks can be easily countered. I must admit McCain’s message management has been sharp.
And what does "going personal" mean? Desperation. They're taking it in the shorts ... and their internals are scaring them to death.

Time for McCain/Palin to bring out the heavy guns, such as tying Hussein to Jerimiah Wright/Bill Ayers and Biden to the credit card industry.
I think it already started with the cut about McCain not knowing how to use a computer.
Getting personal is two-edged sword. Obama has a lot more vulnerabilities and a lot more to hide. Who is this mystery man?
Their internal polling must be telling them that they must destroy Palin in order to win. That’s the only reason I can see why they keep charging up that hill.
I agree...if Obama gets really personal, then McCain can start bringing up this other stuff...the marxist connection, the trip to Pakistan, the arab garb, the Saul Alinsky stuff, the how come nobody knows this guy stuff, the Black Panther and George Soros connections.
Someone needs to post that picture of Dukakis in the tank again.
