We don’t even have competitive candidates in a lot of districts though because many top Republicans chose not to run due to the bad political climate.

This poll may be a bit optimistic though as we all know. Hopefully its not too far off the mark and Republicans only lose a few seats less in the Senate. The house is too far gone, but keeping a strong minority to filibuster is key to the future of America.

I’m predicting Dole cruises to victory in North Carolina and Mary Landrieu gets knocked out.

Coleman will likely be helped out by McCain’s coattails and Franken’s weirdness.

Sununu will be one to watch. Recent polling numbers put him within one. Given McCain’s special connection to New Hampshire, I think he will have a fighting chance in New Hampshire. I’m not sure how Palin plays to New hampshire. She is a fiery libertarian in most aspects which fits well with the state but she is also socially conservative which does not.

And if Stevens still ends up winning Alaska despite his indictments, wowsers, Palin clearly was a game-changer.

That's too bad, but I can't say that I blame them. Not wanting to be associated with RINOs and a liberal president probably made many conservatives to back to their old jobs. Hopefully, 2012 will see many return since Palin (fingers crossed) will be on our ticket.

I don’t think it comes down to the specific candidates...they have to carry their weight, obviously.

But what GOP leaders should be doing RIGHT NOW is selecting the “GOP faces” that will represent them on all the talking head shows for the rest of the campaign.

No Washington stuffed shirts.

I’m thinking people like Susan Mollinari (and her husband...where’d he go?!).
Bobby Jindal
Fred Thompson
Michael Steel
_____________(more women)
Newt’s been fabulous...hmmm, Speaker again?
I’m sure there are many more.

McCain/Palin are great. But they’re spending their days at rallies giving canned speeches. We need feisty, common sense conservatives taking on the libs all day/night on the talking head shows. We need THEM to be the face of the party (sorry, Boehner).

It’s critical that the GOP come up with this team IMMEDIATELY in order to take advantage of this sublime opportunity.
