LANSING, Mich. -- Gov. Jennifer Granholm has met Sarah Palin several times and says the Alaska governor seems like a very nice woman.
But the Michigan governor says that doesn't mean the Republican vice presidential candidate should be exempt from tough questions in an Oct. 2 debate with her Democratic counterpart, Joe Biden.
"She wouldn't ask to be treated with kid gloves. This is the vice presidency," Granholm told reporters Thursday. "She's tough. She's made that very clear."

Second, I find it interesting that Granholm indicates that Gov's are somehow unqualified for POTUS due to international relations inexperience when a small southern state Arkansas Governor named Bill Clinton became the Democrat ideal of what a President should be.
She can handle in Jenny, let's see some "tough" questions asked of Biden, and eventually Obama.
As a Michigander I can say with confidence that Granholm is one of the most useless Govs in the nation, who is SHE to judge Palin. Sarah's done at least something as Governor unlike Granholm who has done absolutely nothing.
What do mean done nothing? She took a successful economy put in place by Republican John Engler and turned us into the state with the worst economy in the US. Done nothing, hah!
Wonder how many of her babies she let die breathing their last breaths in a surgical tray?
Ah, but she has...she has blamed all Michigans problems on President Bush.(see tag for ref.)
Maybe Palin could give the Michigan guvna some advise on economics.
It appears the the nations Governors have a high opinion of her. The California governor (his name escapes me) said she has been an effective governor.
What the heck is my Governor doing traveling to another state when we are suffering with no jobs? She should be here trying to attract new business to this state. I hope she doesn’t plan on charging this crap off to us taxpayers.
Thank God Michigan has term limits and Granholm is native-born Canadian.
I have been following presidential races since Nixon-Kennedy in 1960 when I worked for the Nixon campaign as a boy of 10 and I have never seen so much attention, and so many attacks, paid to a vice presidential candidate as I have on Palin. Think the Libs are nervous?
Granholm just couldn’t stand the idea that her name isn’t all over this election, so she started talking about her fellow Governor Palin to draw attention to herself.
She has turned this state to shambles, and has convinced the Dems (that voted us all into this mess) that it’s all Bush’s fault.
Under Granholm our unemployment rate is year after year the worst in the nation. On her orders virtually no parolees are returned to prison no matter what they do, and Michigan is hemorrhaging college graduates.
Do you really think things could get any worse with her out of the state for a little while???
sad but true.
