McCain/Palin ought to call on Rangel to resign, immediately! He is the poster boy for the kind of thing they have been saying they want to clean up. McCain/Palin should also call upon Obama to join them in calling for Charlie's resignation. If Obama refuses, he will be seen for the phony he is. McCain/Palin should do this before Obama gets the idea and does it first.

I suspect that this is Rangel's punishment for supporting Senator Clinton.

Don’t worry about immigrants learning English. Be more concerned about your Senators learning Spanish.

Maybe I can get away without paying taxes this year by saying: “Every time I thought I was getting somewhere, they’d start speaking Ebonics.”

LOL! Charlie has a comedic presence whether he knows it or not.

That explanation comes under the heading of “I’m either really really stupid to say something this ridiculous or I’m laughing at anyone who thinks a Democrat will ever be called to account for anything”. Personally I think it’s the latter.

Rep. Charlie Rangel should just celebrate the diversity! he finds in the Dominican Republic!

The fact the can't understand Spanish (a language celebrated by those who celebrate diversity!), and that he says "they" just starting speaking Spanish, just shows how un-diverse! he really is.

What an idiot. Rangel obviously didn't get Obama's message. Why can't one of his grand children translate for him?

You need to make sure that your child can speak Spanish.

What does someone speaking Spanish have to do with the dollar amounts going up in the ledger/bank account? Last time I checked, income was not language-sensitive, unless Rangel is going to try to claim he was getting paid in pesos, no idea the exchange rate and just *didn't understand* that the pesos were going to be taxable income.

I want to know if along with back taxes/fees due, will he also suffer some kind of penalty because the disclosure docs he's been providing the House have been incorrect all these years? Pain of perjury and all that.

Good one Charlie. Ranks up there with “dog ate the homework”, or my all time favorite, “I didn’t hear any mention of fund raising at the meeting about the visit to the Buddhist Temple, drank too much ice tea and had to pee.”

McCain/Palin are making change in Washington the centerpiece of their campaign. This would seem to be a great opportunity to highlight the very crap they are campaigning against, on one hand, and on the other hand make expose Obama as a champion of the corrupt status quo.

They need to investigate further back. I’ll bet that 5 grand is just for last year.

This is actually an admission that Rangel knew he should be paying taxes, but he just didn't really pursue the issue.

NO. We need him there. Nancy Pelosi doesn’t dare go after any Republicans with Chuck Scandal sitting there.
