George Bush isn't in charge, says Vladimir Putin
Times Online ^ | September 11, 2008 | Richard Beeston

In a thinly veiled dig at George Bush, Vladimir Putin today suggested that the US President was not in charge of American affairs, saying that it was “the court that makes the king”.

Amid heightened tensions with the US in the wake of the war in Georgia, the Russian Prime Minister insisted that the US leader was a man of honour and integrity, but blamed members of the administration for the sharp deterioration of relations with Russia.

”I still hope we will maintain good relations, but it is the court that makes the king,” he told a group of foreign journalists in an interview at his residence in the Black Sea resort of Sochi.

He nonetheless spoke fondly of his relationship with Mr Bush, saying, only half-jokingly: ”I treat President Bush better than some Americans would”.

Unlike you Pootie Poot, President Bush doesn’t consider himself a monarch. Only egotistical morons like you, Obama, and Hillary believe you are entitled to sit on a throne.

Putin makes a good point — consider Bush’s “court” (D-controlled Congress).

Not to agree with Putin, but this at least is exactly right. Or as we would say today: "personnel is policy".

There are a lot of people President Bush should have fired when he got into office. Hopefully McCain/Palin will tear out a lot of deadwood when they win.

Pootie is telling the absolute truth, here. At least he isn’t threatening to put President Bush on trial, like the DemocRAT VP candidate Biden and the harlequin Speakor of the House Pelosi.

“the court that makes the king”

In Russia, it's the secret police. They've been running Russia since Ivan the Terrible and they're still running Russia.

Russian bloggers and their media are making a big deal out of Representative Dana Rohrabacher (R-CA) saying it's all Georgia's fault and Russia was right to step in and fix the problem. This was at the first day of hearings on the matter, on the 9th. Meanwhile Rohrabacher said back in April that we shouldn't be supporting Georgian membership in NATO and irritating the Russians. In other words, he was spouting off at a hearing, like all congressmen do, offering preformed opinion rather than listening to evidence.

But the Russians think this is as good as an official US statement on the matter, if it suits their propaganda. It even had one of my Russian friends who went to school here (now back in Siberia) for a year and a half tricked. I need some articles on South Ossetian militia activity prior to August 8th to show her, preferably Russian ones...
