I do not think this will backfire at all against Obama but it will for sure backfire on our side if we keep pushing it. A hype of emotions and anger on our side of the internet or talk radio means absolutely nothing in the real world. When your emotions will subdue you will realize that it is wrong to go after Obama on this non story. You cannot stop politicians from the opposing side to use the very common expression lipstick on a pig just because our Sarah Palin mentioned lipstick and pitbull in her RNC speech. It is really stupid and sound like a lot of whining.

You are making FR out to be much more important than we really are.

“I do not think this will backfire at all against Obama but it will for sure backfire on our side if we keep pushing it.”

Mark Levin took notice of it. So did Drudge.

“A hype of emotions and anger on our side of the internet or talk radio means absolutely nothing in the real world.”

You sure you want to go there? First off, you are ‘warning’ us not to make ‘fools’ of ourselves, and then you say we mean ‘absolutely nothing’. Better to stick with one position.

“You cannot stop politicians from the opposing side to use the very common expression lipstick on a pig just because our Sarah Palin mentioned lipstick and pitbull in her RNC speech. It is really stupid and sound like a lot of whining.”

First off, he essentially called her a pig. Just about everyone gets that, including DU. Please don't tell me that the DU can see this .... I'm not going there.

As for whining, that's something Palin has to deal with.
Oh sure, she can be a ‘good sport’ about it. If Sarah Palin were to whine, it would hurt her certainly. That's one aspect that makes BO hurt himself in fact. Everyone knows she has to be strong.

It's a bad night for BO. The DU is doing its piggy dance. And I'm outta here for the night. — FRegards ....

Judging from this post, English is not your first language.

Arabic, maybe?

The Democrats are flailing. While they are flailing its a good idea to give them more and more to flail at. No matter what it is.

They are seriously off message and out of focus. In fact, they are running around as if they had lost their freaking minds. They are in poo flinging mode so might as well keep handing them buckets of it.

Normally I would agree with you, but don't fool yourself - The Left is out to crucify Sarah Palin.

And this "lipstick" rhetoric is a deliberate strategy on the part of Team 0Bama; note the two stories which Ben Smith filed today a mere six hours apart:

Carnahan: 'There’s no way you can dress up that record even with a lot of lipstick'
By Ben Smith
September 09, 2008, 3:08 PM

Rep. Russ Carnahan also took a swipe at Palin... "There’s no way you can dress up that record even with a lot of lipstick," he said.

Obama: 'Lipstick on a pig'
By Ben Smith
September 09, 2008, 6:10 PM
politico.com

"You can put lipstick on a pig," he said as the crowd cheered. "It's still a pig."

"You can wrap an old fish in a piece of paper called change. It's still gonna stink."

That's two different members of Team Obama using the same rhetoric in one day.

I also agree with something that Wolfstar just posted, at #1115:

#1115, Wolfstar: Not only did Obama spew his outrageous misogynistic crap, but he did it with his voice edging into a black street thug accent. Just a hint of it, but it was unmistakable.
And you should also look at Tammy Bruce's take on the matter:
Obama Panics, Hits Bottom of Barrel, Digs
By Tammy Bruce

...Outrageous. Actually, without devolving into too much body language issues here, even Obama is uncomfortable with what he's about to do. Notice he puts his hand up to ostensibly scratch his face, but is actually covering it. And remember also, we've learned he uses teleprompters at these events, so that slur was not off-the-cuff, it was written and planned and he delivered it, consciously...

I'd also urge you to look at two more stories from today:
The Hunt for Sarah October
City slickers invade Wasilla
September 9, 2008
online.wsj.com

...It's no surprise, then, that Democrats have airdropped a mini-army of 30 lawyers, investigators and opposition researchers into Anchorage, the state capital Juneau and Mrs. Palin's hometown of Wasilla to dig into her record and background. My sources report the first wave arrived in Anchorage less than 24 hours after John McCain selected her on August 29...

McCain Camp Says Biden's Remarks on Stem Cell Research are 'Offensive,' 'Disturbing,' 'Desperate'
ABC News' Matthew Jaffe
September 09, 2008 1:14 PM
blogs.abcnews.com

..."I hear all this talk about how the Republicans are going to work in dealing with parents who have both the joy, because there's joy to it as well, the joy and the difficulty of raising a child who has a developmental disability, who were born with a birth defect," Biden said at a rally in Columbia, Missouri. "Well, guess what folks? If you care about it, why don't you support stem cell research?"...

Again, The Left & Team 0bama have made a conscious, premeditated, coordinated decision to destroy Sarah Palin.

It was a cheap shot by obama. He threw it out there and his audience lapped it up.

I think he knew he went too far. After that he paid Palin a compliment, “Look, she’s new, she hasn’t been on the scene, she’s got five kids. And my hat goes off to anybody whose looking after five. I’ve got two and they tire Michelle and me out”. Sounds like he’s trying to throw a brick then hide his hand or whatever phrase it was that he used the other day.

At any rate, the media, while acknowledging the double meaning, is already citing how McCain also used the expression to refer to something that hillary was doing.

I'm with you. I'm all in favor of abandoning political correctness and calling it the way it is. This was not a good idea on Barack's part, but it opens up the floodgates for every un-PC comment anyone can throw at him.

You may have a good point. However, just as an FYI, I was reading comments on a left wing blog site which suggests to me that a lot of liberals may also be having a problem with those comments made today. I think it is enough to cover this story for today, and just allow Obama to make his own next stupid comment (and I’m sure that he will).
