Obama poked fun of McCain and Palin's new "change" mantra.
"You can put lipstick on a pig," he said as the crowd cheered. "It's still a pig."
"You can wrap an old fish in a piece of paper called change. It's still gonna stink."
"We've had enough of the same old thing."
The crowd apparently took the "lipstick" line as a reference to Palin, who described the difference between a hockey mom and a pit bull in a single word: "lipstick."
the “stinky fish” was prettyclearly a reference to mccain. he took cheap shots at both of them.
“After this stupid remark the Dems will have to dump Obama and bring out Hillary.”
That’s what we’ve been worried about. She’s just standing back and biding her time. She’ll be happy to step up to the plate and rescue the party.
Within the boundaries of protocol, how would the DNC go about doing this, since Obama has won the nomination according to their rules. CAN they do it? Would it involve an invitation to a picnic in Fort Marcy Park?

It was a cheap shot by obama. He threw it out there and his audience lapped it up.
I think he knew he went too far. After that he paid Palin a compliment, “Look, she’s new, she hasn’t been on the scene, she’s got five kids. And my hat goes off to anybody whose looking after five. I’ve got two and they tire Michelle and me out”. Sounds like he’s trying to throw a brick then hide his hand or whatever phrase it was that he used the other day.
At any rate, the media, while acknowledging the double meaning, is already citing how McCain also used the expression to refer to something that hillary was doing.
