I believe there are people out there that just have a warrior spirit, whether its fighting or something, theyve got to do it. Its hard to identify with me; its just something I do. ---Evan Tanner, 2005
Tanner, on a camping trip in the Palo Verde mountain area, was found by an Imperial County Sheriffs Department Deputy on Monday. The cause of death is not known at this time. He had not answered friends text messages since last Wednesday, and was officially reported missing on Friday.

Dang...
I always liked him. A smart, classy guy and a hullava fighter.
Sad news, I always liked Tanner as a fighter. Too bad the game passed him bye and he had so many mental demons.
ping
Rest in peace.
First thing he did wrong was to go out there alone.
Oh no! They showed his last fight and the commentators (Goldberg and that yelling guy) were alluding to some personal trouble Tanner was having but they wouldn’t elaborate.
Yes sad news.
It is one of the areas I go camping in. Hot out there this time of year with little room for error. We were out camping in the area in June and that is about as late as I want to go until it starts to cool off again. Yep, said to hear. Rest in peace.
well he had a journal, if your interested but like a lot of fighters
he had various jobs as this illustrated, with UFC lot of guys that did nto have a venue to fight in now do
so it helps many people get into it but, everyone has daemons
just the guy was a decent dude so its bad
Oh My God!! Are you kidding me??? This is nuts! I’m a UFC guy and he was one of my favorites... This is a sad day indeed.
Sounds similar to Chris McCandless’ demise in Alaska as detailed in the book “Into the Wild.”
RIP Evan Tanner, I enjoyed watching you fight.
I forgot to add that we have found one body out there and he died of a heat stroke. The coroner thought he had only been dead a few days when we came across his body. That area was not well traveled at all so you must be prepared and take water with you at all times. Even short trips from camp.
When we off road alone or not we have one of these in the vehicle and another in a dedicated survival kit we carry when afoot....... I carry it as well when hunting. Last ditch 911 tool !

I have never heard of this person, but if you go into the wilds, be prepared. I have seen many like him perish in the desert over the last 50 years.
bump for later
Too young to go. RIP.
RIP. 37 is too young.
RIP Mr Tanner. The desert is an unforgiving place.
