Election '08: Barack Obama wishes questions about his associations with Rev. Jeremiah Wright, Bill Ayers and other radicals would end. But maybe the reason they won't is that there's a pattern: Marxism. It's not hiding.

If Obamaessiah is elected, it will say more about the electorate than about the candidate(s) IMHO. People desiring power over other people have been around since the beginning. As a free and sovereign people, our time may be very short. If the majority prefers to have a king, we either take up arms to reduce their numbers or we go along for the ride.

When one looks at Obama, it's shocking how radical and anti-American his closest associates are.

Good article. Given the smartness of McCain in recent months, I can't understand why his campaign isn't using web and TV ads to hammer Obama's extensive radical associations. Perfectly legitimate issue, and given the visible sensitivity of Obama to such inquiries, potentially quite devastating.

Well, they did in fact try to make some hay out of her connection with Alaska's Independence(?) Party(later recanted -- on page 22 below the fold). They did point out however that her husband was a card carrying member for a while. Basically a libertarian group is my understanding.

McCain's campaign people may be saving the MOAB's for the last couple of weeks before the election. The "swing" voters, the ones who actually elect the candidates, are probably not even paying attention yet. Consider, we are pretty much political junkies here and do our best to stay as imformed as possible most of the time. Not so with most voters, IMHO.

Indeed, it would at least be good for a few laughs.

All of which speaks to a point I, and others probably have made for years; that is, the Dim base doesn't care who, or what, runs for their party. If we think we can have any influence on their base of malcontents, we are fooling ourselves. If he would be willing to take a pay cut, Larry Flynt could probably get elected president. Or Jeffrey Dahmer for that matter. That's why so many are ill-informed on actual issues. Ever try to carry on a rational conversation with a mouth breathing liberal??? They DO NOT CARE.
