I am not sure what you mean by the “true nature” of Libertariaism.. But to me.. this would be a major mistake.

The LP party has self destructed over the past few years.. it has angered more than a few members to leave by jumping from one platform to another and changing ideals right and left to find a perfect fit..

But what I find even more surprising is.. that both the Conservatives and the Liberals bash and taunt libertarians.. its bad enough that liberals do not tolerate conservative politics.. but when conservatives work with liberals to bash libertarian beliefs.. its sickening.

the 1st amendment applies to all political beliefs.. not just to Republicans or Democrats

Is this really a bad thing?

As of right now, there is a sizable number of voters who want out of Iraq right now and are solidly against any kind of 'Patriot Act' stuff. Right now they are inclined to hold their noses and vote for Os.. Obama. NAder is having trouble with ballot access in a lot of places that the Libertarians actually have because they are a real party.

So given Obama's demonstrated maleability on wiretaps, Iraq, etc., this will likely siphon votes off from him.

RuPaul - RonPaul. Either has about the same political significance.

Isn’t the Elf Gynecologist’s 15 minutes of fame up yet? Texans need to retire him so he can get himself some help.

They're as desperate as the Dems are and want to derail the McCain-Palin ticket.

I think the moonbat contingent has already been defined anyway. The Paulistas were never going to vote for McCain, so this shouldn't make any difference. It may pull some votes off of Obama, the anti-war candidate.

There is some difference. Ru Paul supporters can’t rig an online poll nor manage to be on the comment board of every known website in the free world like Ron Paul supporters can. Transvestites or annoying anti-war nerds? Toss up.

My nineteen year old son was for Ron Paul, and then went for Obama after Paul dropped out.

He'll like vote Ron Paul, if Paul is on the ballot (if, that is, he manages to make it to the polling place at all that day ;).

Unlikely.

Ron Paul wants to abolish the Federal Reserve.

I would think people would be on to the rigging Online polls by now.

I do not believe most of the supposed Ron Paul supporters really support Ron Paul. They get cover to raise hell and troll.

I have never seen anything like what has happened in the last 7 days. Ever. And i have been to several rodeos, one Marty Robbins concert and at least 3 local Rotary banquets.

Some did go to Obama, others to McCain and were helped along that route by Palin. Others support Barr, others Baldwin.

If he does run, certainly the media, if they mention him at all, will paint him as a conservative.

If Ron Paul continues to focus on the anti-war foreign policy, he could take more votes from Obama.

Ron Paul got 16% in Pennsylvania. 20% in the populated, heavily Republican south central PA. (Harrisburg, York, Lancaster, Reading)

Mojave,

You've got me on that one. What *is* the true nature of Libertarianism?

I highly doubt he is going to run. It is too late now for him to have any meaningful impact. He might endorse both Baldwin and Barr, but that would not exactly be a surprise.

Paul was cited in aanother Freeper thread talking about how it may be necessary to take up arms against our conservative government.

Paul is another Utopian fascist who has ALL the answers, right down to telling Americans how many BMs each of us can have in a day.
